We were lucky to catch up with Julius Miles recently and have shared our conversation below.
Julius , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
I feel the biggest trends in the fitness industry are influencers not being honest about the process and their own personal progress.
The need for exposure via social media makes people lose site on what the true goal is.
I feel we as an industry need to get back to the basics.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I graduated from Georgia State University with a BS in Kinesiology (Exercise Science). I knew that my passion was fitness and helping people achieve their goals.
After working other jobs I wasn’t passionate about I finally landed a job working corporate wellness. It was not my dream job, but it was my entry into the industry. From there I began to train clients privately and eventually I gained enough clientele to go off on my own and establish Temple Builders Personal Training in 2014.
One of the things that helped me with business is the sport of bodybuilding. Doing my first competition in 2014 I was able to understand more the discipline and sacrifices needed not only to succeed in the sport, but in life as well. It was an eye opener.
What I feel I am the best at is looking at a client and helping that client understand the importance of discipline with food in order to reach their goals. Anyone can give a workout, but how we fuel our bodies is miles and miles more important.
I am most proud of the successes my clients and I have had over the years. They are the force that drives my business. Their results are my walking billboards.
I currently offer in person training in Midtown Atlanta, as well as online training which can be done worldwide.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Personally the most effective strategy for growing my business has been to do right by people and put out great results.
90% of my clients are by way of referral. People will support you as long as you do your best to make them happy.
The other 10% come from social media post or just being out and “looking the part”.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep In touch by creating both email and text list.
I can send out email blast to advertise new products, services and challenges that I offer.
