Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julio Solorzano. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Julio, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I used to paint and enjoyed painting when I was a kid. But I stopped doing it while I was growing maybe because I thought I was too cool for it and I prefered to go after sports! jaja! Then I started painting again when I was 27 because I wanted to give a special gift to my then girlfriend and now wife! Long story short, she loved it! I loved it even more! And after that I started to pursue art not just as a hobby but as a bussiness! That led me to move from my country Honduras, to this great country 2 years ago, I came with a Extraordinary Talent Visa, and now im pursuing even bigger dreams in this great place to do it!
I just wish I had started earlier!!

Julio, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started my art bussiness after I gave a drawn portrait to my then girlfriend. I started uploading pictures at Instagram, people started to get in contact with me, and everything started booming! I started to sell commissioned art paintings and originals from me on the worst era of our country and the world. It all started in the quarantine of 2020, in that year, to get even worse, my country was hit by 2 hurricanes, 10 day difference between them, making a huge devastation on all over the country. Meanwhile, I was painting commissions at my apartment! Now thats a miracle! That led me to apply to pursue bigger dreams in this great country, I started talking to Immigration Lawyers and thank God I earned the Extraordinary Talent Visa to come here and expand my art carrer and dreams even greater!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience has been a main in my journey. Coming to this country, without knowing nobody, no connections, and also having to wait for 18 months for my work permit to be ready, was truly a test for resilience in my life. I was going to get marry on summer of that year, and I didn’t felt financially ready at all! I thought that maybe it wasn’t for me or that I just aimed too high! But thanked God the work permit came. I got married, started to get to meet new people, started healing mentally, grew high in resilience, and now im in my path to success and my very FIRST SOLO ART EXHIBITION in The United States!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Beign able to have the power to CREATE, to use your very own hands to bring to reality whats ust on your mind, soul, and spirit it’s not magial, it’s a miracle itself. To be part of the same nature as our Creator, definitely sets us apart from any other living beign on this planet. Beign able to do every single day, and work and live within your God-given talents and abilities, definitely its the biggest reward someone can have!
