Julieta, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
One of the most prominent trends we’re seeing across industries is the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). In the tech talent recruitment space, staying ahead of the curve is essential as AI transforms both market demands and client expectations.
On one hand, AI provides us with incredible tools to identify top talent and streamline the recruitment process, making it more efficient and data-driven. On the other hand, it presents challenges, such as the emergence of “fake” candidates or profiles generated through AI. This is something we’ve encountered more frequently in recent years, so we’ve had to develop strategies to detect and navigate these situations.
A specific example comes from one of our recent recruitment cycles, where a candidate’s resume and interview responses seemed flawless—almost too flawless. Upon closer inspection, we realized the profile had been partially generated using AI tools. While it was a learning curve, it also underscored the importance of blending technology with human intuition to ensure authenticity and quality in the recruitment process.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got a Degree in Psychology, and my first job out of university was in the Recruiting team at J.P. Morgan in Argentina. It was there that I discovered my passion for recruitment and talent management. Over the next three years, I gained valuable experience in understanding market dynamics, working with high-profile clients, and identifying top talent.
I then moved to Mercado Libre, the largest e-commerce company in Latin America, where I continued to expand my skills and industry knowledge. When Sam and Jordan approached me about Ryz Labs, I didn’t hesitate. The company was just getting started, and I became the first employee. Together, we built the team and the business from scratch, focusing on connecting top talent in Latin America with the most innovative companies in the U.S.
What sets us apart is our personalized approach. We work closely with our clients to truly understand their needs and ensure we find the best fit for every role. We’ve also embraced technology to continuously innovate and improve our services. Watching Ryz grow has been one of my proudest achievements. Since launching in 2021 and expanding our Human Capital business in 2022, we’ve scaled to 120 employees and a growing portfolio of prestigious clients.
We specialize in talent from Argentina and Uruguay, known for their strong educational systems and exceptional tech professionals. The time zone alignment also makes remote work highly efficient for our U.S.-based clients. Seeing our impact—helping clients and talent thrive—is what motivates me every day.
Any advice for managing a team?
My biggest advice is to prioritize clear and proactive communication. At Ryz Labs, we ensure that every team member understands not just their role but also how their contributions impact the organization’s overall success. Providing clarity on goals and expectations fosters alignment and purpose within the team. In recruiting, challenges are inevitable—client needs can shift suddenly, or unexpected issues with candidates can arise—but having a team that is adaptable and solution-oriented makes all the difference.
To maintain morale, I focus on creating a positive work environment where setbacks are seen as learning opportunities. At Ryz Labs, transparency and trust are fundamental to our culture. I make it a point to set realistic expectations while encouraging open dialogue so everyone feels supported and empowered.
Leading by example is also key. I work to improve myself every day and aim to inspire that same mindset in my team. Recognizing achievements, celebrating milestones, and fostering camaraderie are part of how we stay motivated. At the end of the day, the shared understanding that we’re all working toward a common goal—helping Ryz Labs and our clients succeed—keeps us connected and engaged.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing Ryz Labs’ client base has been fostering strong, long-term relationships by delivering exceptional service and staying engaged beyond the hiring process. We don’t just place candidates and move on; we remain available to support both our clients and their teams, ensuring success at every stage. This dedication to ongoing collaboration has built trust, and trust naturally leads to referrals.
In fact, a significant portion of Ryz Labs’ growth has come from word-of-mouth recommendations.
