We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Juliet Denton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Juliet, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about family businesses.

One of the greatest gifts I have received working with my family members is knowing I can count on them to help me complete the project successfully. We all wear many hats and we are able to interchange them cohesively. It takes effective communication and a great deal of patience with each other and that is what makes us a successful team.

Some of the pitfalls have been disagreements with each other over something simple, spending a little too much time together, and asking family members to work lengthy hours.

One of the greatest things about working with family has been the opportunity to spend quality time with my daughter, Haden. In addition to being co-owner of our company, she serves as our social media marketing specialist. Thanks to her fervent and consistent efforts, our online accounts look beautiful and our business has grown exponentially. We are deeply grateful for the recognition we have received from the online community.

This unique time in our lives also offers me moments where I can share my wisdom and expertise to teach my daughter important, practical lessons about life and business.

I’m also extremely fortunate to have special moments working with my mother, Ginger. Watching her have a good time engaging with our customers and clients makes me feel truly blessed.
She excels when communicating our company’s mission or promoting our next sale and I will cherish these moments forever!

Juliet, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Hello, my name is Juliet Denton, and I’m an Arizona native. As a returning student, I graduated in 2019 with a Master’s degree in Project Management from Northern Arizona University. Subsequently, I started All Stars Estate Sales; a 3-generation, women-owned business that provides a top-tier estate sale experience while offering the utmost in experience and expertise.

I created All Stars to provide a creative alternative to a traditional estate sale.
Most often, estate sales can be difficult to shop due to lack of organization, over pricing, and poor display of valuables. At All Stars, it is our point-of-difference to notice ALL of the details – from the visual stimulation of our displays, the relaxing, aromatic scent in the air, and the sound of your favorite song playing in the background, we aim to draw you in on a deeper level to enrich your shopping experience.

I have always been a highly creative and organized person with a keen eye for detail. I worked for several small business owners in Phoenix in the estate sale industry as well as working as a curator for a well-known local designer and artist on Roosevelt Row. This experience, combined with my education equipped me with the skillset and synergy to start my own company and produce a successful first year.

At All Stars, we offer a complete estate sale from start to finish, taking out all of the work for our clients. Our clients can rest assured knowing we will get to the bottom of every corner of the property to locate and price all of the valuables. We expedite the clean out process before the sale to offer a beautifully organized environment to shop. After the sale we donate the remaining items to a local, non-profit organization of our client’s choice. Our process is simple, cost-effective and streamlined to offer an enjoyable experience for everyone.

It is easy to get started. Consultations are complimentary, there are zero up front costs to have a sale, and the client receives 60% of the profit. All Stars pays all labor and advertising costs and we provide detailed documentation of the sales transactions. Each sale is unique and we can create a sale to operate as long as needed, with most lasting 3 to 4 days.

There are many things I’m most proud of when reflecting upon our first year in business. We have learned a great deal while making very few mistakes. I’m incredibly proud of the honesty and integrity of my family and our contractors, as I have witnessed them display the character that is necessary to build a successful business.
Luckily, our social media marketing has gained us recognition during 2024 and we are extremely thankful to be growing our professional network across the board.

Some recent wins are an accreditation from the Better Business Bureau and recognition from local radio stations and magazine companies. This is the exact incremental growth I am looking for as I project long-term success for my business.

Most importantly I want people to know I care about each client’s individual situation and I work with them to complete a difficult project in a timely manner with complete respect and the highest ethical standards.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source of new clients comes from online advertising – whether it be through Facebook Marketplace, Instagram posts reels and stories, or street signs on the curb. Wherever they find us, we are glad they made it! We appreciate each person and we strive to build their loyalty by providing a beautiful sale and excellent customer service.

At All Stars, we attempt to remember our customers’ names and what items they like to shop for; creating a friendly and welcoming environment while leaving a lasting impression.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

At All Stars, we keep in touch with clients and customers by maintaining a fresh and current online presence. Also, we foster brand loyalty by making sure everyone has a great time at our sales, along with sending reminders through email newsletters, text messages, and sharing links to our sales as often as possible.
