We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Julieanne Browning. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Julieanne below.
Julieanne, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
There are so many ways to perceive what it means to be “successful”. I think we often associate success with wealth, but there are so many other ways in which success can be attained, and it looks a little different for everyone.
For me personally, my success lies in my ability to be resilient. When I can look back at the things I’ve overcome and feel proud of what I’ve accomplished, despite the odds, that’s when I feel most successful.
Julieanne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a New York based brand photographer with a love for vintage finds, calming aesthetics, and artful collaborations. I work out of a cozy boutique photo studio in the Hudson Valley, and I absolutely love connecting with other local entrepreneurs and creatives.
I’ve been working professionally in the photography industry for the past 10 years, but I specifically started working with brands and entrepreneurs in 2017. I immediately fell in love with brand photography because it was the perfect little niche for me, combining all of my favorite parts of the job. Being a brand photographer is about much more than just taking beautiful photos. It’s about nurturing the creative community while sharing a truly special experience with my clients.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
In the world of AI, fantastic imagery is all around us. But true authentic experiences are becoming more and more rare, which is why I’ve chosen to heavily focus on the client experience, rather than just the final outcome.
I’ve created a boutique studio space that feels just as cozy as your very own living room. My goal is to provide my clients with artful, high-end imagery – but in a warm and welcoming environment that promotes comfort and creativity, while celebrating individuality. From the moment my clients walk through that door, I encourage them to relax, get pampered, and to use their photography experience as an opportunity to celebrate how far they’ve come.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I actually found myself moving to Upstate NY shortly after a house fire. Long story short, that was a pretty rough year for me, but I chose to use my streak of bad luck as an opportunity to start over from scratch somewhere new. If it hadn’t been for the universe giving me that little push, I’m not sure I would have found the courage to take that risk.
I created the Pine and Fable studio space while I was really missing home and in need of a safe space to heal, reflect, and set new creative intentions. The studio helped me through a major transitional time in my life, and now I get to share it with my wonderful clients. I hope that this space continues to bring creatives together and act as a safe, inspiring place for those in need.
