We were lucky to catch up with Julie Xander recently and have shared our conversation below.
Julie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
The best thing my parents ever taught me was to be honest and authentic. They taught me to be true to myself, to say what I mean, and to live with integrity even when it’s not the easiest path. I’ve learned that people may not always agree with you, but they will respect you when you’re genuine. Being authentic has allowed me to build meaningful relationships, create trust, and live a life that feels true to who I am.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Julie Xander, better known as Lifestyle Jules. I’m a branding specialist, spokesperson, social media influencer, fitness professional, and luxury real estate agent based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
My journey started with my passion for health and fitness. I earned a degree in Exercise Physiology from Arizona State University and have been teaching fitness since I was 16 years old. Over the years, that passion evolved into helping people not only look and feel their best but also build confidence, create meaningful connections, and share their stories.
Today, through Lifestyle Jules, I create engaging content that showcases businesses, entrepreneurs, wellness providers, restaurants, events, and brands. I help companies increase visibility, build credibility, and connect with potential customers through authentic storytelling and social media exposure. Whether I’m interviewing experts, hosting live shows, reviewing local businesses, or highlighting health and wellness services, my goal is always to educate, inspire, and introduce my audience to people, products, and experiences that can improve their lives.
What sets me apart is authenticity. What you see is what you get. I don’t pretend to be perfect, and I don’t create content around things I don’t genuinely believe in. My audience trusts me because I share real experiences, ask honest questions, and approach every opportunity with curiosity and enthusiasm. I believe people connect with people, and I work hard to build relationships rather than simply promote products.
One of the things I’m most proud of is building a personal brand that has grown into a trusted platform for businesses and consumers alike. I’m also proud of my resilience. Throughout my life I’ve navigated career changes, personal challenges, injuries, surgeries, and the ups and downs that come with entrepreneurship. Those experiences have given me perspective and helped shape the person I am today.
Above all, I want people to know that Lifestyle Jules is about living life fully. It’s about wellness, longevity, relationships, personal growth, community, and discovering new opportunities. My mission is to help people live healthier, happier, and more connected lives while supporting businesses and individuals who are making a positive impact in the world.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the greatest tests of my resilience came after a series of injuries and surgeries. Over the years, I’ve undergone four shoulder surgeries and four knee surgeries, including a major ACL reconstruction. For someone who has spent a lifetime in fitness and movement, being sidelined physically was incredibly challenging.
There were moments when I couldn’t do the things I loved, couldn’t work out the way I was used to, and had to rely on others while my body healed. It would have been easy to become frustrated or focus on what I had lost temporarily. Instead, I chose to focus on what I could control: my mindset, my recovery, and taking small steps forward every day.
That experience reinforced something I’ve always believed: resilience isn’t about avoiding challenges—it’s about how you respond to them. I learned to celebrate small victories, trust the process, and remain optimistic even when progress felt slow.
Today, those experiences have given me a deeper appreciation for health, longevity, and the importance of surrounding yourself with the right support system. They also make me a better advocate for the wellness and fitness practices I share with my audience because I’ve lived through the setbacks and understand what it takes to come back stronger.
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s that setbacks don’t define us. How we respond to them does.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building my social media audience didn’t happen overnight. It was the result of years of consistently showing up, creating content, building relationships, and being willing to put myself out there.
When I first started, I wasn’t focused on follower counts. I was focused on sharing things I was genuinely passionate about fitness, wellness, business, real estate, relationships, and the incredible people and businesses I was meeting along the way. As my audience grew, I realized that people connected most with authenticity. They didn’t want a perfectly curated life; they wanted real experiences, honest opinions, and genuine recommendations.
One of the biggest turning points was deciding to become the face of my brand. Instead of simply posting content, I started telling stories, interviewing experts, highlighting local businesses, hosting live shows, and sharing both my successes and challenges. That created trust, and trust is the foundation of any successful personal brand.
My advice for anyone starting out is simple:
Be consistent. Most people quit long before they give themselves a chance to succeed. Show up even when engagement is low.
Be authentic. Don’t try to be someone else. The most successful creators are often the ones who embrace what makes them different.
Focus on relationships, not followers. Social media is meant to be social. Engage with people, support others, and build genuine connections.
Provide value. Whether you’re educating, entertaining, inspiring, or solving a problem, give people a reason to come back.
Don’t wait for perfection. Some of my best-performing content wasn’t polished or planned. People connect with real more than perfect.
Most importantly, remember that social media is a marathon, not a sprint. Building an engaged audience takes time, patience, and persistence. If you’re passionate about what you do and committed to serving your audience, growth will follow.
For me, social media has never been just about building a following, it’s been about building a community. That’s what I’m most proud of.
