Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julie Wasmer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Julie, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Like many people, 2020 was more than a defining moment, it was a defining year. I had been managing a retail store for 14 years, felt unappreciated, and burned out. Then in late February they closed their doors for good. I was happy that I was being forced to make a change that I had been afraid to do. I kept seeing 11:11 on the clock and knew that it was a sign telling me that one door was closing and a new door would open. Little did I know how life changing things would become. Two weeks later, the world went on lock down. My father became ill and went into a nursing home. He celebrated his birthday there in March and 2 months later he caught Covid and passed. I spent the next six months focused on family, taking care of legal matters with my mother, being there for my husband who was still working, and healing my relationship with my 26 year old son as we had time to bond. The 2020 election was contentious and brought on a lot of stress for my very political son. On November 5th, he had a massive epileptic seizure, was hospitalized, and 4 days later transitioned. The shock, heartbreak and grief broke my heart wide open. Two days after he passed, he came to me in the most beautiful experience of unconditional love. He walked into the kitchen looking like he had been backpacking and seemed to be completely at peace. I asked him if he could hug me. His arms started to reach out towards me, then another set of arms and a third set approached me, like the deity Kali. I could feel that they were energetic ribbons of love caressing me. He cocooned me in this unconditional love and then I woke up. It was so beautiful and more real then anything I had ever experienced before. This opened me up to begin receiving gifts from the divine and connecting with Spirit.
Julie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My business White Hawk Wisdom was created and named after my late son Gavin. The name Gavin means White Hawk and Godsend. I help guide clients with Emotional and Spiritual Wellness. I am a Certified Emotion, Body and Belief Code Practitioner. I am able to find the root causes of both their emotional and physical ailments so their body’s innate wisdom can help them heal. As an Intuitive Energy Healer, I guide them on a path more aligned with their soul purpose.
I have helped clients with grief, anxiety, anger, depression, self worth, fear, relationships and shame. I also have helped heal rashes, body odor, migraines, the effects of Lymes disease, parasites, shoulder pain, hip pain and gut health issues.
I work closely with their nutritional needs providing guidance on supplements, food sensitivities, essential oils and herbs that can support them with their individual needs.
I am most proud of healing my own emotional state after losing my son and being able to truly live in a state of joy and peace. As a parent, losing a child is one of the hardest losses to endure and I am proud to be able to not just stand strong, but be a guiding light for others who have experienced their own personal traumas.
My belief is that when we heal ourselves, we help heal those around us and everyone we come in contact with. This is the ripple effect that starts within each one of us and has the power to heal humanity, the animal kingdom and the earth. I am passionate about healing others because when we put our intention on helping others it comes back to help us heal even more, and then we can continue the cycle. When each of us raises our vibrational frequency, we raise the consciousness of the planet.
What sets me apart from others is the gift that I received from my G.R.I.E.F.
G. – Gift
R. – to Receive
I. – and Intuit
E. – Energetic
F. – Frequencies
I am able to feel where energy is stuck in others and help guide them through breath work to bring light into those blocked areas as I work with them 1 on 1.
I empower women to find lasting relief from trauma and chronic illness by integrating Holistic Energy Practices with their existing protocols, so they can thrive and enjoy a healthier, active and more fulfilling life in body, mind and spirit.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
We had a family business that my grandparents had started in 1945. My father and mother fell in love there. I had always seen myself as taking over the family business in the future. The year before I became pregnant, our business went through a bankruptcy and closed its’ doors for good. It felt as though something or someone had died inside of me.
In 1997, I developed an undiagnosed tumor that could be seen with ultrasound during my pregnancy. The tumor grew to 15 pounds and the cancer wasn’t actually diagnosed until I had an emergency cesarean at 33 weeks. Miraculously, I gave birth to a healthy 4 lb.1 oz. baby girl.
I had a complete hysterectomy, went through immediate menopause, chemotherapy, lost all my hair and had to find a way to take care of both a premie and my three year old son. It took all my strength and resilience to pick up the pieces and move forward. There were times that I wanted to give up and have life handed to me on a silver platter.
I realized that nobody was going to save me except myself. It took baby steps to move forward. When we are hurting, we need to look inward to find our strength. We also need community and support. The journey is not meant for us to do alone. My resilience comes from within knowing that my soul has more to give.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
All the training and knowledge doesn’t mean anything unless you have a desire and a vision to bring it into the world. I work with the subconscious mind. So the key to succeeding is to believe it has already happened.
The field of healing with energy is not mainstream and requires a quiet resolve. It is not giving up when things are slow and finding new ways to get yourself out into the public. My business is still quite young and it is evolving as the consciousness on the planet evolves. Many people do not understand how energy works and fall back into traditional western practices for their health. My hope is to bridge the gap between holistic and western healing.
I recently had my first live public event at the Valley Salt Cave in Woodland Hills, California and will continue to do live in- person events monthly. I have to find new ways to connect with others. We live in a cyber world of zoom calls but I do enjoy being in person and am planning to participate in a retreat this spring.
I see myself in the near future doing retreats and getting out and speaking to like minded individuals.
