Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julie Rose . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Julie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I want to break the boundaries on Braiding in America. I want to let all the women that have hair loss be able to feel like they can get hair replacement and to get braids and look as beautiful as they see all the other women on IG or TikTok.
I want to give the women that have hair loss that have been through stuff. That with hair loss that I can give them the hair and Dream braids that they want whether it’s braids the lace frontal install some women can’t even afford to get their hair done. I offered days for low budget style so everybody deserves to look beautiful.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Braiding is like an art how people paint bead or use thread. Every day is the same way that we create the designs for the braids, the stitch braids, the box braids , the knotless all of that is an art. Braiding, you have to have patience not all the clients that come in are going to have the same texture, color or link or a full head of hair so you have to be diverse in the crap that you have for braids
For those that have hair loss, I offer replacement frontals that have a lace and offer braiding over that to give them that full effect of braids
I have the menu for the women that can afford braids. I have the menu for the women that have alopecia and I have the women that are on a budget, so everybody needs are met.
I am proud at the fact that I’ve been able to adapt an accommodate to all of my clients and future clients and needs
Dream Braids is a place where any style that you’ve been dreaming about wanting for your wedding day a new interview a business opening anything that you could possibly think of even to a baby shower I can make those braid dreams come true
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My significant other told me that TikTok is a place for me. I started by doing small videos on how to simply just part the pair, showing how to start braids and explaining step-by-step. Now that intrigues anyone online because some people do not want to try to learn how to break they just get their hair done and then there’s those who want to learn, but don’t have the money to pay for a full course
When I do those step-by-step online, I feel like that I am giving back to those that who can’t afford to pray that want to learn, and they can prosper as well
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I am a single mom of two and it’s hard having childcare and being a braider so I went from shop to shop until I was able to afford a big enough shop where I can set up a couch, fridge microwave and TV so I do not have to pay for childcare. I already work enough hours that keep me away from my kids. I thought this was The best idea to be able to have my kids comfortable, and no strangers raising my kids while their father was on the appointment, so I am able to do hair make money and be a good mom all at the same time
