We were lucky to catch up with Julie Landi recently and have shared our conversation below.

Julie , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

My business was not one that took the pathway of ” I’ve got a great idea, now let’s get some funding, hire a team and bring it to market ” . This idea evolved from a place of desperation..After the sudden deaths of both parents who I was very close to and the ensuing legal battles with both brothers and the dismissal from a 17 year career all within a very short period of time, it was more like OMG where am I? I, who am I ? What am I going to do with the rest of my life? Honestly I was depressed but thought I must still be good for something, But what is it? At 49 I did not even know what that was. I had spent my life serving others with my husband, family and church being my main focus for decades. I felt like I once the fog cleared from all the radical changes I was left standing with nothing but a slew of questions and no real answers and no one to show me the way. I was so disoriented at that time. So I embarked on a journey to learn about the one person I knew the least about in my life….me and learned a lot about myself I had never known. Along the way I began to share vulnerably on social media my learnings. Sharing the new insights helped the learning process for me. And I had no idea that I wasn’t the only one who did not know who they were or what they were going to do with the rest of their lives. I just assumed everyone my age had figured that out. But not so apparently and many it seemed really didn’t have a clear place to even start to look. My daily postings became a voice and a pathway for many. That led to more than a dozen people reaching out to me to ask me how I was walking through this journey and if I could show them the way. A few people became dozens and now hundreds that have evolved into a full blown international coaching organization with a team of over 10 women helping to bring clarity, confidence and a concrete plan to many women who also need to and want to create a great next chapter for themselves. What a thrill to turn ideas into opportunities and that is what we do here at Live Your Vision.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

As a daughter of a 100+ year old family business owner, entrepreneurship was normal growing up. Business understanding was expected and yet with my desire to also be creative I received my degree in Art after adding to my studies and 2 years of studying business in college. I was not a true fine artist but rather loved stylist work. My forte was to take disparate pieces of different mediums to combine them to one masterpiece for a set, video, photoshoot. That is what I now do with women’s lives. I take the disparate pieces of their lives and combine them to make a beautiful next chapter…their own masterpiece. I have created my own signature process that has proven to work now over the last 8 years helping women from all ages and backgrounds to discover, develop and distribute their own unique gifts for greater impact, income and fulfillment. When I started this I was very clear that I wanted a new chapter for myself that was flexible, mobile, profitable, scalable and meaningful. Most women we work with have been busy serving everyone else and have very little understanding about who they are and the value they bring. We help women see that for themselves and then all sorts of doors open for them, relationally, professionally, personally and and even spiritually. It is thrilling to watch women just like me come alive once they get the clarity, confidence and the plan they need for their own lives. They consistently blow their own minds once they see their own capabilities. I loooove that.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

We have made it a point to deliver such value and transformation to each client that they cannot help but refer us because their changes are so evident to all that those around them so others ask them what is going on. We strive to help each client see, say and savor all the growth they have enjoyed so it can’t help but be something they are super excited about. Our strongest source of new clients is referrals.

We also offer several opportunities for friends of clients also to come and sample us. We are so confident in what we offer and with that confidence and track record, combined with client’s personal transformative example and opportunities to sample us we have a consistent and strong referral network. We also strive to offer the most outstanding customer service experience as well. But contact with us and anyone that has been with us is almost always a glowing favorable report. If you have not tried us out you are missing out.

Any advice for managing a team?

It’s absolutely wonderful to have a great team. And it takes work to move a collection of people from being a working group to a true high performing team. First of all, that must be the plan and your intention. You must have your own vision of what you want it to look otherwise the group can just grow in directions that are not helpful to the mission. So drawing the right people is key and primary but having in mind what you are trying to create is primary. Your mission, vision, values, avatar and brand promise as well as your strategic aim are key to attracting and retaining top talent that works for you and all involved. If you do not have those worked out you will hire for need filling vs mission achievement. What is your mission? What is your vision? What are you trying to achieve? Then you will determine who you need. Also who do you do your best work with? Then you will know who is even a candidate for the team. And finally remember building your dream team takes time, intention and continual training to shape and create a beautiful culture that draws and retains those that will bring the vision to life.
