Hi Julie, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

I came up with the name 1804 Kremas &Epis because both products are originally from Haitian cuisine and I wanted people to know more about Haiti and plus the Haitian independence is the year of 1804 .

Julie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hi I am Julie I am originally born and raised in The Bahamas , Both of my parents are from Haiti .I am proud to be a Bahamian of Haitian descent.

I moved to Orlando 6 years ago with my daughter .
In 2019 while in the middle of an pandemic 1804 Kremas &1804 Epis was birthed with the help of my mom .
1804 Kremas is a coconut – based drink with a fusion of aromatic spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg to form a smooth taste .
Traditionally consumed during Haitian social events, holiday,and celebration such as weddings ,birthday parties and also have the similarly to the Hispanic coquito.

Epis is an organic vegetable season base that is used to marinate meat ,seafood, and also prepare stew, soup,rice and beans and many more .
Typically use in the Haitian household and call sofrito in the Hispanic cuisine and in the Caribbean it is call green seasoning.

Today I as look back from when I started my company I proud of my Accomplishment. I am now in online Walmart, Amazon, Esty .

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.

Yes I sell on platform like Amazon and Walmart online and Etsy. The pros and cons of Walmart and Amazon is that Walmart is you can create your own return policy, sellers have more control over return conditions and can establish terms that work best for their business while being fair to their customers. Amazon on the other hand requires its sellers to have a return policy that matches or exceed its own and also brands and sellers can expose their products to a new customer base that they otherwise may not be able to reach on Amazon.com or on their own website.
