I recently attended a training where I was asked to write my eulogy. I feel this is what I wish to leave as my legacy:

The legacy of Julie Jones is woven with threads of love, hope, and inspiration. To encompass her essence in a single word, “kind” emerges as the resounding echo of her journey. Julie radiated an unparalleled zest for life, embracing every moment with unbridled passion and an unwavering commitment to living authentically on her own terms.

Born as the eldest of Joe and Mary Rosolek, Julie’s heart was nurtured with the values of empathy and giving back. From her earliest days, she lent her hands and heart to church functions and charitable endeavors, establishing an unbreakable bond with the act of helping others. Her life was a symphony of volunteerism, board service, and fundraising, each note played to uplift those causes closest to her soul.

As she navigated grade school and high school years, Julie’s resilience shone bright amidst the shadows of bullying. With an unwavering spirit, she sought out the companionship of those often overlooked, forever weaving them into the fabric of her friendship. For Julie, friendship was a lifelong commitment—once a friend, always a friend. A simple call away, her laughter-infused conversations were a testament to her role as a social director, crafting moments that lived beyond time.

In the story of her love, Julie married Mike at a Halloween wedding, where the union was a canvas painted with strokes of generosity for a cherished cause. While her own path to parenthood was marked with challenges, Julie embraced the role of advocate and guardian for those who needed a guiding light.

Julie’s path was influenced by the untimely departure of her mother at 59. This experience ignited within her a mission to ignite joy and kindle the flames of authenticity in others. Her legacy echoed a simple yet profound truth—break free from the relentless cycle of life and embrace your true self. Boldness coursed through her veins, a guiding principle that whispered, “Say yes to life’s offerings.”
