We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Julie Heaton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Julie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope my legacy will be love. It sounds corny, but it’s true for me. I believe a kinder world starts at home in our hearts first. If I can encourage just one person to cultivate love for themselves and lead from their heart, I’ll have positively impacted the world. Forgiveness, abundance, gratitude, connection, and kindness all start inside and flow to the world from there. We can’t give what we don’t already have. Ultimately, on my last day in this body, I hope people will know I love them.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The last few years have been a remarkable journey of personal and professional growth for me. I’ve transitioned from a ‘successful’ corporate career, where I lost sight of myself, to becoming a certified health coach, a Reiki Master, a Ceramicist crafting adorable elephants, an author, and a Mentor. This evolution, though challenging, has been deeply rewarding, and I am now more aligned with my true self.
From the depths of my personal journey, The Manifester’s Playbook emerged. This book is a beacon of hope, designed to empower you to create the extraordinary life you deserve. It’s a practical guide offering bite-sized steps to integrate positive habits into your life. It’s a call to dream big, expand your possibilities, and break free from limitations, all rooted in the foundation of self-love.
I believe in whole-person wellness. This means looking at every aspect of life—physical, spiritual, financial, connection, romance, career—and seeing where we’re struggling and can improve. Each piece makes the whole. I believe in caring for our bodies from the guts out and cultivating a deep love for ourselves. Everything stems from self-love.
I started writing The Adventures of the Fabulous Three children’s book series to encourage love and kindness at a young age. If we give kids a foundation of confidence, self-love, and compassion, they might not struggle to find their way as adults. I hope these books help the grown-ups reading them love themselves more, too.
Each book I write is a testament to my commitment to fostering goodness globally. I aim to instill a deep love for the planet, our fellow creatures, and ourselves in children. In addition to writing, I offer one-on-one mentoring. I am here to support those ready to make a shift and do ‘the work.’ I am your biggest cheerleader and a candid friend, always ready to guide you on your journey of self-improvement and wellness.
I find immense joy in sharing what I have learned through life experiences. My favorite thing is showing people their greatness, leading them to accept and love themselves more each day.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
There have been so many lessons learned and unlearned in my lifetime! The biggest and most helpful thing in my life is not to be rigid. Things aren’t always as they appear; solutions and agreements can be formed if you stay open-minded. Instead of looking for what doesn’t work, find what does. That could be firing a customer, changing your approach, or asking more questions. The answer is always in the mix if you aren’t focused on being right.
Lessons and better ways of doing things are all around us, especially when we listen to our clients. Keep learning and understanding their needs, not just what we want. Adjust your offerings as needed, and never say or think, “That’s not how we’ve always done it.” Instead, play around with new ideas and see if they feel good and fit the business. Use your intuition to guide you to what’s next.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’m constantly pivoting; that’s part of growth. I’m working on a more efficient and cost-effective way to print and market my books. I just finished my recent project, a workbook to go with The Manifester’s Playbook, and I’m starting on my next book. This is a time in my business when I must make tough financial decisions, and I’m determined to do what it takes. I have a passion for helping people and writing, not so much for marketing and dealing with printers.
For me, the pivot is about working on my business rather than in it. I love writing books, mentoring people, and learning. In contrast, I’m not a fan of technical stuff or marketing. I must balance loving what I do and doing what I must do to keep doing what I love. I know I can do it. I’m ready for the challenge.
