We recently connected with Julie Grimes and have shared our conversation below.
Julie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our family loves to entertain and be with friends and family. During and after events, we found ourselves cleaning up as we also attempted to visit with our guests. Our attention was divided between making memories and trying to avoid a giant mess at the end of the night.
There were times we just had to look away, leaving our mess for the next day, which wasn’t any better!
While celebrating a milestone birthday, we quickly identified a need for party hosts to have extra hands to manage “all the little things” that need attention during a party but shouldn’t take the host away from the guests and event.
Party Ninjas was born! Party Ninjas is a family-run business consisting of a mom (Master Sensei) and 2 Ninjas. The mission is to instill a strong work ethic and servant leadership into our next generation of workers, as we serve event hosts to make the most of their party, event, or celebration!
 
Julie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Party Ninjas serves to assist the event host with clean-up during and/or after party, event, or celebration.
Party Ninjas refresh food and beverages, restock paper goods (napkins, paper towels, toilet paper), wash + dry dishes, manage trash, serve food, and more.
Imagine a child’s party where someone else takes care of serving pizza, stacks and disposes the empty boxes, cuts and serves the cake, and throws away the trash!
Imagine a celebratory dinner party with full place settings and all the dishes are washed and dried at the end of the night.
Imagine a graduation party where the food and beverages are refilled and you can visit with out of town family, without a worry.
Party Ninjas allow the host to visit with guests and enjoy the moment, creating memories from the event. Party Ninjas helps reduce exhaustion of cleaning and allows the host to have the space return to pre-party peacefulness.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
As a new business, we primarily utilize social media, advertising services to our neighborhood business page. Posting photos and descriptions of services provided during an event allow potential clients to gain a better understanding of what we can offer.
 
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I am a physical therapist, specializing in patients with neurological disorders, such as stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injuries.
Like many healthcare workers, I experienced “covid fatigue” from all we endured throughout the pandemic.
My heart for service was still very passionate and I wanted to find other ways to serve others, not in a healthcare setting.
Starting Party Ninjas allowed me to share my passion with my children, to serve others in our community, while teaching them vocational skills for the future.
