Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Juliana Sotomayor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Juliana, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
I went to college to study criminal justice to be an investigator. I thought that would be the perfect career for me since i loved “putting pieces of the puzzle together”. I knew i wanted a career that wouldn’t force me to be stuck in a cubicle for 8+ hours a day, i wanted “freedom”. After working just 8 months in my “career”, something i spent YEARS studying for, I quite!
I learned working for someone else, your needs are not as important as the needs of the company you work for. I experienced a great amount of loss in those few short months and it made me realize I needed to make some life changes. If i wanted true happiness, I needed to live a healthy & meaningful life that serves not only my needs but my family and clients needs as well. I learned to live a more balanced lifestyle.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello, I’m Juliana, but you can call me Jules. I’ve had quite the journey into the world of real estate. My path started in the realm of investigations, but my passion for real estate developed when I house hacked and managed Airbnbs during college. What began as a side hustle to cover expenses turned into a revelation – I was already knee-deep in real estate investing and property management without even realizing it.
That “aha” moment led me to pursue my Florida real estate license, and now I help others achieve their real estate dreams and build generational wealth. Whether it’s becoming a landlord, diving into fix-and-flip projects, hosting short-term rentals, or creating appreciating assets for the future, I guide my clients through the intricacies of real estate investment.
What makes me stand out is my knack for creative problem-solving. No two clients are the same, and I pride myself on crafting tailored solutions to meet their unique needs and aspirations.
But what really makes me beam with pride is the families I serve. Helping people find their ideal properties and secure their financial future is incredibly fulfilling.
What I want you to know about my brand is that I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all service. I’m all about personalized attention, adapting to your individual needs and desires. When you work with me, you’re not just getting a Realtor; you’re getting a partner on your journey towards real estate success.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
In the realm of management and entrepreneurship, one resource that has had a profound impact on my thinking and philosophy is “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. Much like many real estate entrepreneurs, this book played a pivotal role in reshaping my mindset. Before delving into its pages, I, like many others, adhered to the conventional path of being an employee. However, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” unveiled an entirely new world of possibilities that I hadn’t previously fathomed.
The book’s core message about distinguishing between assets and liabilities not only transformed my financial outlook but also had a ripple effect on my choices in friends and, more importantly, my thought process. It prompted a shift in understanding what truly matters and discerning what might be hindering progress versus what’s propelling me forward. In essence, this book was a catalyst for a significant shift in my way of thinking and has been instrumental in my entrepreneurial journey.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for expanding my clientele has been a combination of authenticity and delivering value. I actively engage with the real estate community on platforms like Facebook and various real estate investing groups. It’s in these spaces that many of my clients discover me.
Once I begin working with new clients, my focus shifts to building trust and ensuring they receive tangible value from my services. Happy clients often become my most vocal advocates, referring me to their extended networks of friends and family. This word-of-mouth endorsement has played a significant role in growing my client base.
