Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Juliana Ericson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Juliana, thanks for joining us today. How’s you first get into your field – what was your first job in this field?
The Day Everything Changed
The day my son Heydn drove away to start his new life in Austin, I stood in the driveway and waved until I couldn’t see his car anymore. His two cats stared back at me from the window of his packed car, as if they too were asking, “Are you going to be okay?”
I wasn’t sure.
Heydn had been my whole world. I raised him as a single mother after his father died when he was just 3. For 21 years it was just the two of us. I had shown up in every way I knew how—room mom, Cub Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, Assistant Scoutmaster—not just because I loved him, but because I wanted to be part of his world. We were a team.
And now, he was gone.
That morning we’d made pancakes together, a ritual of sorts. And after I’d watched him leave, I returned to the quiet kitchen, cleared the dishes, and reset the house. I was surprised by what came next: not just tears, but a sudden, strange sense of relief.
It was the first quiet moment I’d had in years. In that stillness, something stirred.
Who was I now?
I didn’t have a career to return to. I hadn’t worked in over 25 years. But what I did have was a deep, burning love for healing and transformation. I had read mountains of personal growth books, filled journals with reflections, and spent weekends in workshops. And most importantly, I had done the inner work. I had walked through the fire of low self-worth, codependency, and grief—and come out stronger, wiser, and more free.
Rebirthing Breathwork had been my turning point. I spent two powerful years immersed in training with the pioneers of the work—Sondra Ray, Leonard Orr, Tony LoMastro, and Maureen Malone. That experience rewired something deep in me. I learned how to release pain stored in my body, how to breathe fully, and how to reconnect with the sacred.
And something remarkable had happened: people noticed.
Friends and acquaintances started asking me what I was doing, because I seemed lighter, more alive. When I told them, they asked for a session. I offered it freely, not even thinking of it as a business—just sharing what had changed my life.
But after Heydn left, something inside said, “What if?”
What if I could create a life of service and meaning by helping others awaken their joy and reclaim their power—just like I had? What if this wasn’t just something I’d learned… but something I was meant to give?
So, I picked up the phone. I called the people I’d helped and asked if they’d share their experiences. Word spread. One session turned into five, five turned into a workshop. And before I knew it, I had a small but growing business rooted in deep transformation.
It all began when I listened to my body—that quiet nudge in the stillness of an empty kitchen. It reminded me what made me feel most alive. It reminded me of the sacredness of helping others feel whole again.
And so, The Joyful Life Project was born. Not from a business plan. But from a moment of deep listening. A moment of letting go. A moment of choosing joy.

Juliana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
“I just know there’s more to life than this.”
That’s something I hear all the time from the women I coach—smart, capable, loving women who feel stuck, restless, or simply worn out by life’s demands. Some are empty nesters suddenly unsure of their purpose. Others are navigating confidence issues, relationship struggles, or quiet battles with anxiety. They may not know what they want, but they know they want more—more peace, more joy, more of themselves back.
As a Positive Mindset Coach and Breathwork Facilitator, I work with women who are ready for that more. They’re tired of surviving and are ready to thrive. Together, we uncover what’s been holding them back and gently guide them toward a life that feels aligned, empowered, and deeply fulfilling.
From Survival to Soulful Living
My coaching begins with a simple yet powerful principle: focus on what’s right instead of what’s wrong. Positive Mindset Coaching rewires old, limiting patterns into new beliefs that uplift and support your growth. It’s not about pretending everything’s fine. It’s about discovering the tools to shift your inner dialogue—and your entire life.
But there’s one tool that accelerates this shift like no other: Breathwork.
Why Breathwork Works
Breath is life. And when we learn to breathe with awareness and intention, we can begin to release years—sometimes decades—of stored tension, trauma, and self-doubt.
Using a gentle and powerful method called Rebirthing Breathwork, my clients experience profound transformation:
92% report a significant decrease in anxiety
78% release long-held trauma
82% feel a stronger connection to their authentic self
73% improve their relationships
Breathwork gets underneath the surface. It bypasses logic and goes straight to the root—the subconscious beliefs that silently shape our thoughts, emotions, and actions.
Healing Begins in the Womb
One of the most fascinating aspects of Rebirthing Breathwork is its connection to Prenatal and Birth Psychology. Research has shown that our earliest experiences in the womb—our mother’s emotions, relationships, stress levels—can profoundly impact how we navigate life. These early imprints can influence everything from our self-worth to how we handle love, money, and connection.
But here’s the miracle: we can change it.
When we become aware of these deeply embedded patterns, we gain the power to rewrite the script. Through Breathwork, we can identify the preverbal “decisions” made in those earliest stages of life and gently reprogram them.
Rebirthing Breathwork helps us:
Release negative emotional charge stored in the body
Integrate forgotten or suppressed emotional and spiritual experiences
Shift from victimhood to empowerment
Reclaim our innate worthiness
A Teacher Who’s Walked the Path
I don’t just teach this—I’ve lived it. I’ve known deep pain and devastating loss. I’ve made mistakes and felt the kind of sorrow that brings you to your knees. But I’ve also discovered the joy and ease that comes from healing at the source. That’s what makes me a compassionate guide. I’ve been there, and I know the way forward.
Life doesn’t have to be so hard. There are easier ways to live—and you deserve to experience them.
If you’re feeling the call for more joy, more peace, and more you, this may be your moment to breathe into a new beginning.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
About a decade ago, I began using doTERRA essential oils in my personal life and was amazed at the emotional and mental support they provided. Within two years, I felt so aligned with their benefits that I decided to incorporate them into my Positive Mindset Coaching work. It felt like a natural fit—pairing intentional breathwork with high-quality essential oils was a beautiful way to deepen the experience for my clients.
I loved being able to offer blends like Breathe during breathwork sessions, Adaptiv for moments of overwhelm, Vetiver to calm racing thoughts, Cheer to lift low moods, and Serenity for restful sleep. I was genuinely excited about how seamlessly everything could work together.
I dove in, teaching essential oil classes and spending hours each week growing my doTERRA business. But in doing so, I unintentionally began neglecting my core work—The Joyful Life Project. That year, my flagship four-month training had half the number of participants I was used to. I had stretched myself too thin, trying to run two parallel businesses instead of one unified path.
Since then, I’ve come back to my center. Today, I offer doTERRA oils as a supportive resource within my coaching practice, but my focus remains clear: I am a Positive Mindset Coach who specializes in Breathwork. That’s my lane—and it’s where I can serve most powerfully.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
While I’ve spent years training in Rebirthing Breathwork and Positive Psychology, and am honored to be recognized as a Master Trainer, there’s one thing that remains at the very heart of my work: my daily spiritual connection.
Each morning, I center myself through the lessons in A Course in Miracles, using them as a grounding meditation practice. This sacred time isn’t just for me—it’s what allows me to show up fully for my clients. The more connected I am to **Source—God, Spirit, the Divine—**the more clearly I can serve.
Before every session, I pause and invite the Holy Spirit to guide the work. I silently pray for each person as they breathe, trusting that something greater than myself is leading the way.
This work is deeply sacred to me. I truly can’t imagine doing it without that connection to the Divine..
