Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julian $tyles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Julian , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I’m Originally From Columbia,SC Where My Friend Mellow & I Had Hosted our Own Music Events With our Collective 187BLVD Where we had Performances Merchandise & Artist Development we have some artists their first opportunity to perform n with that We decided to Take a Risk to move to LA to Further our Creative Vision & So far its been going great Started my own clothing brand picked up new skills like photography
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
So It was Around 2015 When I Really Started to Take my music seriously coming from our type of environment not many people were on the kind of wave ever since I listened to Kendrick Lamar overly dedicated project it really gave me the inspiration to be myself in not only music but ever other medium I tapped into. When we would throw our events I would always get on the mic and freestyle it’s my favorite thing to do an a great to warm up for the studio. As of right Now I Can provide Photography, Styling for music video/Photoshoot also Writing songs, hooks, Chorus for artists looking for writers and honestly I just enjoy creating and helping other creatives on their Journey to get to where they want to be or to help further the vision I’d say that I’m most proud of being from where I’m from n being able to make it to where I am with being from South Carolina it’s not easy but if you want it go after it
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The Most Rewarding thing for me as an artist is someone supporting because they genuinely resonate with my art/vision I’m putting out there hearing hey man I really like that song you made I added to my playlist or that new video you dropped is awesome can’t wait till the next one things like that keep me going an inspired
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
As An Independent Music Artist Most of The Time you get paid last or You put out a lot of money just to get people to listen checkout your art
I have to Pay for Cover Art, Music Videos, Outfits for music videos, Photoshoots, Have to pay for production Merchandise etc the Artist has to dish out a lot just to be heard so if there is an artist you really like go out n support them a lot goes into the process
