As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As an Art Director, I helped a diamond jewelry company to create its brand identity. While working on the project I got to understand the diamond industry and how it has long been shrouded in secrecy and non-transparency. From the mines to the jewelry stores, there is a lack of accountability and traceability in the supply chain, which makes it difficult for consumers to know where their diamonds come from, how they were mined, and whether they were ethically sourced. This lack of transparency has resulted in a host of issues, including human rights violations, environmental damage, and the funding of conflicts. While there have been some efforts to improve transparency in recent years, there is still a long way to go before consumers can be assured that the diamonds they purchase are ethically and responsibly sourced.
I got very passionate about changing the above issues. Learned more about alternatives to mined diamonds and came across lab-grown diamonds, which are thanks to technology, the exact same as mined diamonds. At Juwels & Co, our mission is to revolutionize the diamond industry by making lab-grown diamonds the preferred choice for consumers worldwide. Lab-grown diamonds are ethical, sustainable, and affordable, and they offer the same beauty and durability as mined diamonds without the environmental and social impact. By promoting lab-grown diamonds, we aim to provide consumers with a transparent and ethical choice when it comes to buying diamonds, and we strive to create a more sustainable future for the diamond industry. How’d you meet your business partner?
My co-founder, Julia Malysch, and I met in Germany approximately 16 years ago. We were both attending a photography school, and it wasn’t long before we became classmates. We sat together in the first row, right next to the teacher, who was a seasoned photographer with years of experience under his belt.
As we progressed through the course, we found that we shared a passion for photography and a desire to achieve our goals in life. We enjoyed assisting the teacher and other students, which allowed us to take on leadership roles. Our supportive nature made us great partners, and we often collaborated on projects outside of class.
After completing the course, we knew that we didn’t want to stop there. We wanted to pursue photography on a professional level and make a name for ourselves in the industry. We supported each other in these pursuits, and our shared vision for success brought us even closer.
Over the years, we’ve faced many challenges and obstacles, but we’ve always had each other’s backs. Our friendship and partnership have endured, and we’ve built a successful business together.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Referrals have been a key factor in the success of my business, and I am incredibly grateful for the support of my clients who have referred their friends, family, and colleagues to me. Word-of-mouth recommendations have been a powerful tool in attracting new clients and expanding my business, as they come with a level of trust and confidence that is hard to match through other marketing channels. I take great pride in providing exceptional service and value to my clients, and I believe that this is reflected in the positive feedback and referrals that I have received. It is my goal to continue to exceed the expectations of my clients and to build long-lasting relationships that benefit both my business and my clients for years to come.
