Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julia Parzyck. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Julia, appreciate you joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
One thing I’m really proud of is my inclusive wardrobe styling business, Soft Body Baddie Styling! I take an holistic approach. I go beyond just putting together outfits by incorporating breathwork sessions and unpacking any body image blocks at the beginning of our styling sessions. This allows my clients to center themselves, release tension, and cultivate mindfulness before we even start talking about clothes. It’s amazing to see how this unique approach helps my clients connect with themselves on a deeper level and enhance their overall experience.
Another thing that sets me apart is my emphasis on working with the wardrobe clients already have, rather than pressuring them to constantly buy new items. I think we can revamp our wardrobes without buying a ton of new things and looking at our closet with fresh eyes, and I always encourage thrifting! I also believe in letting go of traditional fashion rules and encouraging clients to embrace their individuality. By doing so, clients feel empowered to express themselves authentically and confidently, which is incredibly rewarding to witness.
This difference matters because it fosters a positive and inclusive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their style journey. It’s all about empowering people to embrace their uniqueness and feel amazing in their own skin.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My journey into the styling industry began with a personal transformation – I experienced a significant boost in my own confidence after overcoming my own body image struggles by embracing my own individual style and exploring what fashion means to me. I spent much of my life dressing in a way that kept me small and hidden, and when I realized I didn’t have to live by these rules anymore, my self-acceptance skyrocketed. This realization inspired me to start my own styling business, with the goal of helping others feel the same sense of empowerment and self-expression.
At Soft Body Baddie Styling, I offer a range of styling services tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client. Whether it’s revamping their wardrobe, exploring new fashion trends, working on letting go of fashion rules that have held them back, or simply figuring out how to put cohesive outfits together that make them feel amazing, I’m here to provide personalized support every step of the way.
But my services go beyond just picking out clothes – I also offer body image support to help clients cultivate a positive relationship with their bodies. I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate societal pressures and unrealistic beauty standards, and I’m committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where clients can feel seen, heard, and supported.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is my holistic approach to styling. I believe that true confidence comes from embracing one’s authentic self, and I strive to empower my clients to do just that. By working with individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing incredible transformations and helping clients rediscover their sense of self-worth. Having a stylist isn’t just for high profile celebrities, but EVERYONE!
I’m incredibly proud to have worked with clients from around the world and to have been able to make a positive impact on their lives. My ultimate goal is to help each person I work with feel confident, empowered, and comfortable in their own skin. Whether you’re struggling to find your personal style or looking to improve your body image, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

How did you build your audience on social media?
My journey into building my audience on social media began quite organically. Initially, I started showing up online daily with the simple goal of finding a supportive community in the eating disorder recovery world, as I was navigating my own recovery. I wanted a space where I could share my experiences and connect with like-minded individuals. I wasn’t aiming to become an influencer or content creator, but rather to find a space where I could be myself and feel supported.
As I continued to share authentically and engage with others in the community, I found that my audience began to grow naturally. People resonated with my genuine personality and the content I shared, and gradually, I found myself building a loyal following of individuals who shared similar interests and values.
My advice for those just starting to build their social media presence is simple: be yourself and find your people. Authenticity is key in connecting with others online, so don’t be afraid to show your true self and share your unique perspective. Focus on creating content that you’re passionate about and that resonates with your audience, and engage authentically with others in your niche community. Building a social media presence takes time and consistency, so be patient and stay true to yourself throughout the process. Remember, it’s not about the numbers, but about the meaningful connections you make along the way.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
My journey into funding my business has been entirely self-funded and run independently by myself. I have relied on my own resources and financial acumen to make it all happen.
I didn’t have access to external investors or anything like that, so I made a conscious decision to bootstrap my business from the ground up. This meant carefully managing my personal finances and making strategic decisions about where to allocate my resources.
I sought guidance from my financial advisor and CPA to ensure that I was making sound financial decisions and managing my finances effectively. However, everything else – has been done on my own.
While self-funding a business can be challenging, it has allowed me to maintain full control and autonomy over my business operations. It has also taught me valuable lessons about financial management, resourcefulness, and resilience.
Overall, I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish with my self-funded business, and I’m excited to continue growing and evolving in the future.
