Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Palfi.
Hi Julia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I lived in New York City for most of my adult life. During the past few years, many more people started to work from home. I found it interesting to observe what New Yorkers actually wanted to wear without as much peer pressure affecting their clothing choices—sweatpants. So, my thought was—what could I do to make sweatpants something women felt comfortable wearing all the time, while still feeling good about how they look.
With the idea of creating women’s luxury casual clothing staples, like sweatpants, that focus on both style and comfort, I drew out the designs. Next, I proceeded to product development and, ultimately, production.
In the end, it was so exciting to have a company that features products that had been just a figment of my imagination and hear how other women loved the designs and comfort of my company’s clothing as well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve definitely faced some challenges. For instance, once I finalized the designs, I needed both premium fabric and craftsmanship to make the designs come to life.
I spent countless hours going to New York’s garment district and meeting with fabric suppliers and manufacturers. It took months of introductions, networking, reviewing fabrics and samples, however I finally had sweatpants and T-shirts that represented the combination of style and comfort I was aiming for!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about ThreadRally?
I own a women’s luxury loungewear company called ThreadRally.
My company centers around timeless staple pieces, like sweatpants and T-shirts, that are stylish yet still comfortable.
Sweatpants and T-shirts are so quintessentially American, so are a part of our everyday lives for many of us. My goal in focusing on style and comfort when creating ThreadRally’s pieces was for women to feel good about wearing sweatpants and T-shirts all the time.
Since my company is focused on American clothing staples, it just made sense to have all of ThreadRally’s clothing be made in the USA.
What are your plans for the future?
Once ThreadRally reaches a certain momentum, I’d look to expand our product offerings. Of course, I’d make sure we stay true to the luxury level of design and materials our customers have come to expect from ThreadRally.
