We recently connected with Jules Lavallee and have shared our conversation below.
Jules, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
When I began my writing career, my goal was to make a difference. I believe through the power of the word you have the ability to control the narrative which can insight action for global change. I have spent the past 10 years writing about celebrities, royals, global leaders, entrepreneurs, and humanitarians. I have also intentionally built my network daily by way of FB and LinkedIn. They must go hand in hand to succeed.
What does my day look like? I wake up at 4:30 AM, I pray to God, and I get to work. I write freelance for over 30 magazines covering most subjects. Every day is purposeful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been a Celebrity Writer for the past 10 years. I actually got into the celebrity realm through my charity work. I met celebrities and they asked me to coordinate events and obtain press. I then reached out to editors and asked if I could write about celebrities and the rest is history. My celebrity writing built a foundation. Everyone loves Celebrity, right? or at least they want to be next to them. Today, I interview royals, global leaders, and entrepreneurs. I have a very successful career and I am known globally. I have opened doors where many can’t through my strong work ethic, honesty, and trust. You can view my interviews on LinkedIn www.linkedin.com/in/jules-lavallee-56814556/ and discuss a potential interview.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Hold on to your seats for this one. I began as I mentioned, 10 years ago as a Celebrity Writer. I use this term, “Celebrity Writer” to distinguish myself. I am very unique in this business in my approach to humanity and my writing. I began at Harvard University with my love for writing and my desire to make global impact. My intentions have been pure; however, the “Business of Writing” is not merely about storytelling, it is a Doggy Dog world. I will explain why, many publications do not pay their writers. So, many writers are freelance. Freelance does not mean, “Free” it is pejorative to think that someone will take time from their families to promote someone’s brand. Freelancers make their own rates and also have agreements with editors as well. Here is the kicker, you have PR Professionals and Publicists who obtain their retainers of $2,000-$5,000 a month to bring clients placement in the media. I work with thousands in a year. Many are incredible with high-profile clients, who know the value I bring to the table, and I am paid very well. However, there are PR Professionals and Publicists who pitch their clients to me, a successful writer with a huge network and think that I will work for free. They don’t want to share their piece of the pie. Then they will discredit me when I don’t write for free. Am I resilient, ABSOLUTELY or I would have never kept achieving higher and higher. I am trusted by the most powerful people on the planet to tell their stories. Moreover, what I tell people is that it is not about the article, it is about my network. That is valuable.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I am from LA. When COVID hit in 2020, Hollywood shut down and I made my lion’s share on celebrity interviews. I thought, do I wait for the government to send me a life-preserver, HELL NO! I reached out to my consultant friends who have clients in big business globally, so I wrote for business magazines and did a ton of cover stories. I made more money in that time than I had made in years.
