We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jules Ferdowsi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jules, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
When my relationship with my son’s father abruptly ended, I found myself standing at the intersection of heartbreak and resilience. Overnight, I became a single mother, navigating a world that suddenly felt much lonelier.
At first, I turned to writing. The Mommy Archives began as a personal blog—a space where I could be honest about the beauty and chaos of motherhood. I wrote about the sleepless nights, the moments of doubt, and the quiet victories that made it all worthwhile. But despite pouring my heart onto the page, something was still missing.
That’s when I realized: I didn’t just want to share stories. I wanted to create spaces where parents and caregivers could truly connect.
What started as a blog evolved into something bigger—a movement dedicated to fostering real connection, both in person and online. Through free or low-cost meet-ups, educational workshops, and digital resources, The Mommy Archives is a space where parents, caregivers, and supporters from anywhere can come together without judgment. No pressure to be “perfect”—just a place to be seen, heard, and supported.
Whether you’re looking for local meet-ups, expert-led discussions, or simply a community that understands, The Mommy Archives is here for you—no matter where you are. Because parenting isn’t meant to be done alone, and every family deserves a village.
That’s the heart of The Mommy Archives.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
About Me & The Mommy Archives
I’m Jules Ferdowsi, a former finance professional who left the corporate world to create something deeply personal and impactful. In 2023, after becoming a single mother, I launched The Mommy Archives—first as a blog, and now as a growing community for parents everywhere.
Motherhood can be isolating, especially when your journey doesn’t look like the polished version often portrayed online. After my relationship with my son’s father ended, I searched for a space where I could feel seen—not just as a mom, but as a whole person navigating an entirely new reality. When I couldn’t find what I needed, I created it.
The Mommy Archives started as a place to share honest stories about parenting—the messy, beautiful, and complicated parts. But over time, I realized that reading about connection wasn’t enough; we needed to build it in real life. That’s when I expanded The Mommy Archives into a movement, offering free or low-cost in-person meet-ups, online resources, and educational workshops to support parents in meaningful ways.
What We Offer
The Mommy Archives is a platform and community dedicated to supporting parents through connection, education, and shared experiences. We offer:
Local Meet-Ups & Events – A space for moms, dads, and caregivers to come together without judgment, whether it’s a casual playdate, a music class, or a clothing swap.
Educational Workshops & Expert-Led Sessions – Covering topics like postpartum mental health, parenting strategies, financial wellness for families, and more.
Digital Resources & Support – Through our blog, social media, and online discussions, we provide valuable insights, expert advice, and relatable content for parents everywhere—not just those who can attend in person.
What Sets Us Apart
A Community-First Approach – While many parenting spaces focus on content or paid memberships, we focus on real connections and accessible resources.
Authenticity Over Perfection – We embrace the unfiltered realities of parenting. No curated perfection—just honesty, support, and solidarity.
Mission-Driven, Not Profit-Driven – We believe support and community should never be out of reach, which is why we keep our offerings free or as affordable as possible.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m proud of the space we’ve created—one where parents can show up as they are, without fear of judgment. I’m proud of the moments when a mom walks into a meet-up for the first time, unsure and a little hesitant, and leaves with a new friend or a sense of belonging she didn’t have before. And I’m proud that our impact reaches beyond local events—through our online platform, we’re able to support parents everywhere, no matter where they live.
What I Want You to Know
If you’re a parent looking for connection, The Mommy Archives is here for you. Whether you’re a new mom struggling with sleepless nights, a dad looking for a space where fatherhood is valued, or a caregiver in need of support, you are welcome here. Follow along for resources, real conversations, and a community that truly understands.
Because no one should have to do this alone.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
After working my way up from an associate to a controller in the finance industry, I spent years climbing the corporate ladder—chasing promotions, raises, and the next big milestone. I was working 80-hour weeks, sacrificing weekends, and constantly trying to convince myself that one day, I’d finally find balance. But deep down, I knew that pace wasn’t sustainable.
I realized that success, at least the way I had been defining it, wasn’t enough. I wanted more than just a title or a paycheck—I wanted purpose. That’s when I made the decision to step away from corporate finance and pursue my passion project: The Mommy Archives.
It hasn’t been easy. From building a website from scratch to hiring a team, I’ve had to learn everything on my own. There were moments of doubt, but also moments of incredible growth. And while this journey has been full of challenges, it has also been the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done. Because at the end of the day, creating The Mommy Archives wasn’t just about starting a business—it was about building something meaningful, something that truly matters.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I’ve always been taught that hard work is the key to success—grind away, push through, and hustle until you get results. And for years, that mindset shaped how I approached everything. But what I’ve come to realize is that while hard work is important, working smart is even more powerful.
I’m actively unlearning the belief that success only comes through relentless effort and exhaustion. Instead of grinding myself into the ground, I’m learning to surrender—to trust that not everything needs to be forced or controlled. Some of the best opportunities, ideas, and connections have come when I’ve allowed space for things to flow rather than trying to micromanage every outcome.
It’s a work in progress, but I’m embracing a new way of moving through life—one that values intention over burnout, alignment over control, and trust over constant struggle.
