We were lucky to catch up with Julee Knox recently and have shared our conversation below.
Julee, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new firm – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?
My first clients were sweet first time buyers. They were referred to me from a great friend who trusted me to help them. I told everyone I will work harder than anyone you know and will always keep it fun and exciting. Well we needed to tour several homes and we set out. One was a foreclosure and needed many repairs. Another home was older and even gave us a scare. We heard this noise coming from the home. I said what do you think it is? My buyers said I don’t but it is spooky sounding. Well I said you go look and he said no you. We found the noise in the bathroom and it was an old radio playing static and we laughed because of how scared we all were. I will always remember touring several homes before we found the ONE that made them smile and fall in love, It was an adorable yellow cottage home with a white picket fence and a big back yard. This was a home I added to see and was a surprise! We negotiated the price so it was comfortably affordable. I could see a peace on their smiling faces and knew that God had answered our prayers. I love each story of finding or selling homes for my client/friends.

Julee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello my name is Julee Knox. I am a Realtor in the beautiful state of Alabama, a Mom, a Wife, and a Friend. Oh I wanted to be a Realtor when I turned 50 years young. I studied hard and I tell eveyone that it took me 7 times to pass the test. It was the hardest thing in my life. I am a hands on learner and a visual and struggle with multiple choice answers. I would always make a 68 or 69 and you needed a 70 to pass. My beautiful daughter Kallee and my awesome husband Thomas could have passed the first time as they helped me study and my biggest cheerleaders to say keep going. I love them for supporting me. The main thing is I did not GIVE UP nor did I QUIT, I finally PASSED and I still apply the same never quit, never give up attitude to help you all. I love helping and going above and beyond.
I absolutely love to meet new friends.
My job of serving goes way beyond the paperwork and the prices. This is relationships where I listen to your needs, any concerns and I work with many people with all kinds of personalities.
I help with families who have dementia issues or lost loved ones and it is so sentimental.

I work with anxious people, hoarders, people who are OCD, ADD, and I understand each persons needs and make it personalized.
I help first time buyers and teach them the process. I help first time sellers to understand the current market and what to expect.
I am highly ethical, fun, honest and trustworthy.
I have helped with people possibly losing their homes to sell quick.
I sell homes AS IS or STAGED for top dollar.
I have sold million dollar homes, farms and 60,000 fixer uppers and enjoy each one.
I have helped many people trying to sell ” for sale by owner ” and get more money than they ever imagined and I do all the work. My motto has always been: Live ~ Love ~ Laugh. There is a solution for every situation. Ultimately God has the plans and knows what will happen so there is a sweet peace. God has given me a gift of mercy, serving and administration. I love coordinating everything to get you to closing. I have helped so many people and am grateful to you all. The highest compliment is the referral of your friends and families and I am truly thankful for each and every person I am able to help.
I learn something new everyday and pray blessings for your families

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
When I think about my reputation in the Real Estate business the first word that comes to mind is being kind. Being kind needs to be first and foremost something I apply to all of the people I get to work for.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is doing an amazing job, going above and beyond for everyone, not quitting and having those friends send their friends and families.
