We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jua’Quen Perry a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jua’Quen, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

I grew up with a huge imagination. It’s been 23 years now and I’m still imagining things and dreaming big dreams. I was bullied a lot in elementary school and that led to my shyness and not seeing my worth. I was afraid to express what I truly felt with anything and just went with the flow. However, a change happened to me in 7th grade when I sang openly in front of a large crowd at my middle school’s Christmas concert. I received so many compliments from peers and other members of the audience. From there, I discovered so many strengths. I learned how to create flyers, record videos, edit videos, edit photos, grow in piano playing, and so many other creative things. Instead of just keeping it small, I decided I wanted to share my gifts with the entire world. In 2021, I began my business. Que Perry Media & Productions is not just a company that assists with creative designs, editing, and production, it’s a company that shares opportunities with others nationwide.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding thing is to see my clients happy about my work. I truly believe that art is an emotion and a feeling. Lives change by the work of art that is shown and presented. I’ve even had clients that expressed tears of joy, because of the beauty in the work that was presented to them. Art and creativity flows from within.

How did you build your audience on social media?

All I can say is keep posting and connecting with others! In the beginning, nobody hardly ever reacted to my posts or videos. I continued posting and sharing my work until others noticed and now they notice it by themselves. Marketing is so important and it gives others just a taste of what you’re doing. Which gives them a thirst for more. Building relationships are also important. You never know who you’re going to meet, what they can do for you, or what you can do for them.
