We recently connected with Juanita Woodson and have shared our conversation below.
Juanita, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6 NKJV).
My parents were two people I have always seen work hard for the things they want in life, still to this day. I have seen them overcome adversities individually, but more importantly together.
My parents instilled in my siblings and I at a young age the importance of working hard, but also giving back to those in need. That’s where my heart for helping people came from.
Juanita, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Juanita N. Woodson and I am an author, publisher and purpose pusher. I own Grace 4 Purpose, Publishing Co. LLC where we assist aspiring writers and authors to publish their books with purpose. We do this by offering a number of services from writing/author coaching, strategic marketing planning, and a range of publishing services (editing, book cover design, and more).
I have always had a love for writing and took that love for writing and self-published my first book, ‘Don’t Go That Way: Protect Your Purpose’ back in 2017. My gift for working and my purpose for helping people collided as I started to help others navigate writing their own stories and going through the publishing process.
Grace 4 Purpose was created with the purpose of taking the stress and guess work out of publishing. We are a hybrid publishing company which means our clients keep 100% of their royalties and their voice is not lost in the writing.
Oftentimes aspiring writers/authors just don’t know where to start with the process, we simplify that for them.
Grace 4 Purpose is more than just business for me, it’s building a network and relationships.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Consistency, transparency and a positive customer service experience has helped me and continues to help me build my reputation in the world of publishing and coaching, There may be many people that do what I do, but I don’t focus on them, I focus on my clients. I realize that every client is different, their needs are different and the approach may need to change to give them the best experience.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Consistency and learning to pivot. My brand/audience is growing everyday and everyday social media is changing. I know that it can be overwhelming sometimes adapting to all of the changes of social media; find what works for you. Be open to doing things different but don’t ever compromise your values and morals for a few follows, likes or retweets (shares). I have found what works for me and, and that’s consistency.
