Today, we’d like to introduce you to Juanita Omisade. Juanita was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Jennifer Williams.
Juanita, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
Jynnyfa and I first encountered each other at Willis-Knighton Pierremont, a hospital located in Shreveport, Louisiana. I was experiencing an exceptionally challenging day at work. Jynnyfa took my hand and guided me to the nurse’s break room, where she began to pray with me. From that moment, we forged a deep friendship.
Jynnyfa later established an outpatient substance abuse clinic, and during her expansion efforts, she reached out to me, instructing me to check my email. To my astonishment, she offered me the position of co-owner at the second location. She explained that this decision was due to my unwavering support for her first clinic, where I consistently assisted without being asked. I frequently filled in and organized community service initiatives, which held significant importance for her. She emphasized that she would not consider expanding her business without my involvement. Interestingly, I had previously thought she was joking when she made such statements, yet she remained true to her word. Now, I am fortunate to engage in work that I am passionate about, and it hardly feels like work at all.
We’ve heard great things about your organization. For our readers who might not be as familiar, can you please tell them about the organization?
We are an outpatient substance abuse clinic. The primary objective of the clinic(s) is to provide exceptional services in the areas of substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment, thereby aiding individuals in their transition to a healthier lifestyle through a comprehensive range of resources and support. Our facilities include World of Wellness in Cedar Rapids, IA, HOPE Recovery & Wellness in Phoenix, AZ, and Cornerstone of HOPE in Tucson, AZ. HOPE was founded with a vision to transform lives through compassionate, high-quality behavioral health services. It’s an acronym for Helping Other People Excel. Our journey began from a deep-rooted passion for making a difference, inspired by witnessing the profound impact of effective support and resources on individuals struggling with substance abuse. We pride ourselves on providing unique and distinctive services, carefully tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Our team is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment that empowers individuals to transition into healthier lifestyles. Our clients often share experiences and reviews that highlight the genuine care and transformative impact our services have on their lives. At any one of World of HOPE Wellness Centers (HOPE Recovery & Wellness, World of Wellness and Cornerstone of HOPE), we are not just committed to your recovery; we are committed to walking this journey alongside you, every step of the way
Jennifer Williams and Cornerstone of HOPE have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Jennifer Williams and Cornerstone of HOPE and your experience with them.
Jynnyfa and I first encountered each other at the hospital, where she had never met me before. She took my hand and uplifted my spirit through prayer. Her selflessness is evident; she consistently prioritizes the needs of others above her own. Jynnyfa is always seeking ways to resolve issues for those around her and provides resources that empower individuals to help themselves.
She often reflects on her past experiences, including a time when she lived in her car with a young child until she could afford a weekly hotel room, eventually transitioning to a studio apartment. Jynnyfa readily shares how, during those challenging times, only one woman believed in her, a support that she has cherished ever since. Each day, she embodies that same passion and never forgets her beginnings. This connection to her past is likely why so many people are drawn to her and her business. Remarkably, she does not engage in marketing or advertising; her success is entirely driven by word of mouth.
It is truly inspiring to witness her navigate the complexities of substance abuse with an unconventional approach. She fosters an understanding of trauma, boundaries, prevention strategies, and tools for maintaining sobriety, while also emphasizing the importance of educating clients about healthy relationships and conflict resolution. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can acquire the skills necessary to cultivate safety and respect in their relationships with themselves and others.
One of the most rewarding aspects is witnessing clients successfully navigate the program. Subsequently, they often seek internships that can lead to full-time roles within the clinic(s). I perceive her as a celebrity when we traverse the community, where individuals approach her with immense gratitude. They express their appreciation for her support and share their current progress. Their faces radiate joy, and it is truly heartwarming to observe how she reciprocates this positivity, nurturing their souls and spirits. Jynnyfa embodies the essence of her organization, H.O.P.E.
