We recently connected with Juan Romero and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Juan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
The biggest trend I’m seeing in this industry is going under anesthesia to get large scale tattoos. I personally see nothing wrong with this, everyone has their own pain tolerance and if you are a good candidate for it then I feel like it’s a good opportunity for getting heavily tattooed faster. I have tattooed a few people that have gone under and it does make my job a lot easier and I am able to get a lot more done without having my client moving.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, my name is Juan Romero and I specialize in black & grey realism tattoos. I got into tattooing because I’ve loved art growing up, once I was handed my first machine I never stopped. I think what sets me apart from most is my character, when you meet me you will be meeting who I really am and I don’t hide it! I am most proud about how far I’ve came and how I just opened my first luxury tattoo studio “New Vizion Tattoo” in Avondale, AZ.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
A couple months before opening my shop I was non stop working to make sure I can fund the opening of my new shop. I saved every penny that I could so I wouldn’t need to take a loan out.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
One day I decided to pick up the camera and record myself, everybody loved it! I continue to make videos and be myself and it’s been going well for me, I feel like this has brought a lot of attention to my social media accounts. If you’re looking to build a social media presence, you need to get used to the camera and be persistent.
