We were lucky to catch up with Juan Pablo Baptista recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Juan Pablo, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
After a long time without doing Jingles, I’m back this 2022 with a new one, and it’s very important for me because is for a company in my Home Country, Venezuela
I started when I was about 17 years old to make jingles for TV and Radio, and did it for about 12 years, then when I came here to the US I started to do more personal music and Post production for TV and all the commercial music was abandoned.
Having the opportunity to do this again makes me super happy. This new Jingle will start running in July 2022, and it’s for a Lottery, can’t say more.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Since I was a little boy I started to play instruments (all my family plays Instruments), at the age of 12 I was already playing drums, guitar and Piano. At that point I started a band with some friends in order to play in parties and just for fun, never thought that at the age of 17 I was already recording and producing music, What started as a hobby for fun with a small dream, ended up filling all my days.
This industry is very difficult, and also changes very fast, it is very important to be open to changes and new ideas, and trust who you have on your side.
As Juan Pablo, I have been focusing on production, ( composition, music, arrangements), also singing and everything related with Digital marketing in that area. I considered that in this times is very important to have knowledge in many areas supporting your primary.
I work with individuals and companies, always trying to transfer what the client has in mind and mixing in it with what I think would go better in the least time possible.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
It’s a thought question but the long story short.
My mission is to use my experience, knowledge and will to keep my clients/fans happy, and in other way, to be there when they need me the most.
My goal would be, stay active and up to date everyday for the rest of my life, trying to be as much as possible surrounded with my family.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
More recently I have read Atomic Habits from James Clear.
This Book has reinforced my thoughts and actions and presents many resources to keep you in track that as an entrepreneur or not you will need them on a daily basis.
