Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Juan David Sánchez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Juan David, thanks for joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
Stepping into the wellness industry has been a rewarding and transformative experience—one that has pushed me to grow in my professional and personal life! At 28, I left my company in Colombia, moved to the US to get married, and set out to explore my potential in new environment.
Through a close connection, I was introduced to Vicus Water. The conversation with the Founder was both challenging and inspiring, blending strategic insights with shared values around health and well-being. This was a defining moment because I felt like I did in my own company: Challenged and inspired by a greater good.
Since then I’ve been working with Vicus Water as it continues to make a meaningful impact in the wellness space, and I’m grateful to be part of a mission that aligns purpose with action. This journey has been as fulfilling and inspiring, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to something that truly matters.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a Colombian born and raised designer and entrepreneur. I love contributing to innovation across industries and my experience has been mainly in food, agriculture and medicine.
From a young age I got interested in creative expressions, fueled by what I saw traveling with my family. This led me to study Design at University of the Andes with a minor degree in Fine Arts. After living in Oslo for an exchange and graduating, I started a company with my father and my best friend. Lomarosa was born in 2019 and we all imprinted our know-how in this project, which took shape as an agriculture and food business, that regenerates the land while producing pork, cacao, cattle and other things.
After spending 5 years building Lomarosa I made a drastic change a came to the US to live with my wife, and that’s when I connected with my new project/obsession: Vicus Water.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
100%! As a teenager, all I knew was that I didn’t want a “normal” professional career, and I didn’t vibe with programs like business, law, medicine, etc. which is why I chose design.
This has made my journey bumpy and non-linear, yet, I have come to realize that I wouldn’t have it other way. My CV and plans for the future are not standard because I’m not standard, and understanding that that’s my value has been one of the most empowering realizations.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I’m constantly learning new skills, whether it’s reading or taking online courses, and I can’t recommend this enough. I think what has helped me succeed the most has been getting trained in finance and accounting, as a designer. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t choose this as your career, these are skills key, and the mix of both worlds has huge potential.
