We were lucky to catch up with JR Garcia recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi JR, thanks for joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
The execution for JR Technology had to be precise and calculated. Being from San Antonio I noticed the online market had barely begun to pick up in San Antonio. As San Antonio was evolving I pounced on the opportunity to establish a brand that would showcase the excellence of San Antonio companies to bring light to my home. I locked myself in my office, which of course I mean my bedroom, and revised my original business plan. Laying out the steps to strike at the perfect time with a lasting impact. What better way to launch then by respecting Texas Tradition and showcasing at the Rodeo. I was asked to be a tasting judge for the cook-off and got the opportunity to meet countless clients which I still have today.
JR, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
JR Technology offers scaling solutions to help expedite a business growth process. We offer the software and strategies to boost a business to achieve their goals. We work with small to medium size service based companies as well as those needing e-commerce services. We launched in 2022 at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. JR Technology provides the tools necessary to create a lasting impact on customers that etch your marketing into a buyers mind. We find out exactly who it is you’re targeting and curate a specific strategy on how to reach them effectively. Discipline plays a huge role in executing as we understand that your social presence plays a large role in how customers perceive your brand. Thats why every decision is carefully considered and backed by data. What sets us apart from the rest is our dedication to the customer. Our job is to satisfy your ideas of your business vision. We want the only limitations to your marketing to be your imagination, not excuses.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I didn’t come from a wealthy family. We faced the same struggles millions of Americans face daily. So sourcing the income wouldn’t be the easiest of tasks set in front of me but if I’m going into business I had ought to have an income stream. I worked at any opportunity I had and lived frivolously, something I was already familiar with. I raised 10k in 2 months and went all in. I put 3,000 in long term stocks and day-trades. Today the majority of the account came from the initial 3,000
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I think any salesman would agree that sales is simply a numbers game. The more people you talk to the more likely you are to sell a product or service. My first job ever was at a call center where I would make on average 300 calls a day. For a 14 year old hearing the ways people said no or rejected an offer definitely gave me a shock. When starting the company I knew I would have to return to cold calls to make sales and get the ball rolling. But no one ever tells you how hard it is to get that ball moving. No one preps you for the amount of of work it takes to build something bigger than yourself to support yourself and others.
