We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Joy Rowe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Joy below.
Joy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
A big risk taken is never taken with a light heart. I have spent much of my time living for other people’s dreams, helping other people fulfil daily goals and during that time, I knew there was so much more that I should be doing for myself, The biggest risk I have ever taken was to leave a regular 9-5 job and pursue my dream of creating a clothing brand. I spent months contemplating that decision and did a lot of research on events, vending, branding, and merchandise supply. I love making things with my hands and the jobs that I worked in the past were very heavy on my body, I would come home with the intention of making something that I spent the whole day designing in my head and when I finally got home, I would be too tired to do much more than shower and grab a snack, The risk is that my income is not as guaranteed as it would be if I were working for someone else’s dreams or goals.

Joy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Spiritual Palate is a brand I began creating in 2016, Soon after my Mother passed away in 2015, I felt a emptiness and loss of motivation. I lived each day and didn’t really live. I was not very financially stable for a while because the jobs that I worked so I did not have means to obtain simple things. One day I broke the ear off of my glasses and I had no money to get new ones, so I fixed them with copper wire, leather strips and ringlets. I had already found an interest in jewelry and clothing design but this is the first time I seriously tried to make something and I loved how I felt after I was done and saw my vision come to life in front of me,
Spiritual Palate creates custom rings, pendants, arm cuffs, bracelets, necklaces, etc. There are a few branch brands within Spiritual Palate that create other custom made items. The thing that sets spiritual palate apart from other brands is the custom design and personalization that goes into the product pieces. I am most proud of my drive and ability to adapt the style of my art. I would like my followers and potential clients to know that this brand is a brand the centers around spiritual and mental health.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
The best way to keep in touch with clients is to keep communication open by using things like social media engagement or email lists and subscriptions.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of finding new clients for my business has been vending at pop up shops or branded events. Networking at events has always garnered results for my brand.
