Joy, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I run an Afrocentric brand where we make completely natural wigs which is mostly AFRO WIGS. The story behind this brand has to do with my root and culture. As an AFRICAN WOMAN, my roots are vital to me. I got really fascinated on how African hair grows, the texture, the length, maintenance and everything. I wanted the modern African woman to have a feel of how the hairs were in the 1990s. It is such a unique hair and beautiful. It stands out anywhere. For me, I can be very creative with my afro wigs, I can create something very unique with it, I can be versatile and express my creativity through AFRICAN AFRO WIGS
Joy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Joy Chukwuma,a proud African young lady with an Afrocentric brand called FRODYNAMICS. It simply means we are dynamic in our creation of fros or strands of afro hair.
I got into this line of business because I love AFRO HAIRS and want to show creativity through them and also preserve that aspect of the AFRICAN CULTURE REGARDING OUR HAIRS
Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
Well, I love AFRO,but at that time, I didn’t know how to create them. I payed some money to a guy in the market place close to my residence. He taught me for about a week and some days.
Because I was eager to learn, I learnt very fast and started practicing on my own. I got better with more practice and time.
I made an Afro wig one day, wore it out to an event and everybody loved the hair. Photographers continuously took pictures of me. I told myself, it is time to get STARTED with this as a BUSINESS.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I see my clients as very special people so I make sure that from the beginning of their purchase process to the end. I give them the best services. I check up on them, I want to know how they are caring for the hairs they bought. Sometimes, I give out free revamps to some clients.
My brand loyalty is very vital, so I make sure that I render the best of quality services in terms of the hair production, packaging and delivery.
I try as much as possible to avoid my clients complaining about anything on my side.
