Hi Jossycar, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

That’s a pretty easy question! My family always said your name sounds like a famous name “jossycar bravo” imagine reading this name on a magazine “wow” so i decided to call my beauty salon by name just because during my childhood everyone used to say that name is unique! Since then nobody else has my name even on IG!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I started going to beauty school as a “hobby” in 2019 because i always liked it to take care of my skin, but one of the chapters got my whole attention “eyebrows” I always struggle with mines and i knew I wasn’t only me in that situation, I realized i had good skills to do eyebrows so I decided to focus on doing this and not just for me, I want it to do it for everyone who is struggling with it like me and help them to be their best version through eyebrows

I do offer a variety of services depending on what my client is looking for the moment, example like something just for a couple days “henna brows” or something more permanent like a powder brows that lasts 18 to 24 months

Getting that reaction after a service “wow im a human girl again” or “wow i have eyebrows i’m ready to swim at the pool and keep having eyebrows” thank you Jossy, that’s everything for me, i know i change everyone life through eyebrows

I am also a master trainer, i have students all over the world changing life through eyebrows, learning my technique a few of them are from Venezuela, Canada, Curasao, Bahamas, New York, Orlando, Texas, New Jersey, Florida, Atlanta, and others

I’m so proud doing what i do, being a Brow Artist is a lucrative career, it is my dream job, i never realized this would be my full time job, i have a degree in accounting university from my born country venezuela that I couldn’t revalidate in the usa, but definitely what im doing right now is what makes me happy, it took me a lot of sacrifice to have my own studio but definitely worth it!

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

After finishing beauty school it was very hard to get a job in a beauty salon due to years of experience required to be in your résumé. So i decide to work doing uber/lyft to have the opportunity to manage my time, every passenger had my business beauty card in case if they needed my services they could contact me! .
That’s how I slowly grow my clientele, i used to do both jobs until i found an opportunity in a beauty salon who believed in me and letted me become the best one doing eyebrows, after 4 month working in a beauty salon i decided to move to my own beauty suite, thanks to my social media management (by me) my clientele keeps growing incredibly, in this moment im not the only one working in my beauty salon, i have hired someone who can help me to keep growing because im fully booked!

The KEY: believe you can and you will!

How did you build your audience on social media?

Every client that seated in my chair i used to ask for their instagram page, after finishing their brows i took a picture of my work posted on Instagram stories and tagged them, so like this they would repost me and share it with friends, that’s how i grown 600 followers per month

Beside that i used to create a lot of content, videos, informative post, so they can understand every service and have the option to try it for the next visit!
