We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Josiah Jean. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Josiah below.
Hi Josiah, thanks for joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
In order for me to take the leap and start my professional wrestling journey i had to be sure that this was what i wanted to do. On the day of my high school graduation in 2021 i was sure what i was going to do. I was going to become a professional wrestler! I got a job and i started saving to pay for my wrestling school tuition. The second step was finding a wrestling school. I knew i eventually wanted to go to the Reality of Wrestling school but i was a smaller thinker then so i felt it wasn’t the time and i wasn’t ready. I ended up finding a place called the LAW Factory and there is where i first got my feet wet. On my first day of showing up it actually ended up being a holiday part for their guys but i wanted to prove i wanted this so i stuck around and asked if i could roll around.
The first person i met was Jay davis who was the first person to start teaching me things in the ring. Eventually a guy by the name of Matte Locke showed up and we wrestled in the ring. Luckily i had a high school wrestling background and a point to prove. Later that night i got the nod from the owner of the place Jason Sullivan and so my training began.
It was at the LAW Factory that i met Ninja Mack an elite level wrestler known around the globe. He started teaching me the little things to help elevate my game. He was also the one who helped elevate my mindset for chasing this dream.
After a few months of training with Ninja Mack he told me i should go to Reality of Wrestling. Of course i said no but he wouldn’t stop telling me i needed to go. Ninja Mack’s saying is “Wanna make a bet?” he lives by that and he always bets on himself and that’s why he has all the success he’s had so far.
I decided to bet on myself and i made the trip down to Texas City for the Reality of Wrestling. The first person I met was Kevin Bernhardt he signed me up and the real work began!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Josiah Jean a Houston based Professional Wrestler. My journey into this industry started as a dream i held onto since i was 8 years old. I knew then this is what i was going to do and i’m doing it now. My career jumped off upon joining reality of wrestling. Sitting under the learning tree of Booker T and Sharmell Huffman along with Kevin Bernhardt. I’ve learned so much from them in my short time as a member of The Reality of wrestling. The coaching staff there is phenomenal training under the likes of Bryan Keith, Ryan Davidson, and Ayden Cristiano on a weekly bases has developed my skills to such a high level. I know i couldn’t get that level of training anywhere else.
Not very many stick to their childhood dream. I encourage people not to play it safe and chase that ultimate dream with tenacity and a burning desire. The tenacity i use to chase this dream and make it in this industry along with my ambition set me apart from others. Im willing to take the risk and i’m willing to make the bet!
I am most proud of getting on the radar of the biggest professional wrestling organization in the world via WWE in my rookie year. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet talent scouts several times over and work with the WWE on multiple occasions. I plan to work with them more in 2024 and of course work with them on a larger scale. I dream big so i play big so that i can win big!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation within the professional wrestling market is being good to people and having a good team around me. Word of mouth spreads like wildfire. What really helped was the use of social media while i’m new to the social media world, being consistent with posting has helped grow my brand along with my reputation by showcasing myself on a larger scale.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Before i debuted on the main stage of Reality of wrestling i was on the student showcase shows. I was having decent matches but they were just matches. In order to be on the show and be a superstar i needed to make a change. I can’t remember how it came up but i received advice from someone who is undeniably a star. I’ll never forget Promise Braxton who is a very close friend now told me “You can either be a jobber or you can be a star”. Right at that moment it clicked and the wheels started to turn. I began to study the little things the stars do and take those things and make them my own. My next bout everything changed my entrance, my walk, my pose, my talk. After that match i knew the game changed for me now i just want to amplify those star qualities more and more each opportunity i get.
