Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Josiah Bishop . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Josiah , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I first learned that I wanted to go pro as an artistic roller skater when I learned about all of the roller skating opportunities in LA. I saw a music video with some amazing roller skaters in it. I then started picturing myself j the video and well and I had never felt more excited to pursue something. It was in that very moment that I decided this is exactly what I want to do, too!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi! My name is Josiah Bishop. I am 28 years old. I was born in Texas, raised in Virginia and currently living in California. I decided I wanted to be a professional roller skater when I saw a music video on YouTube that had roller skaters in it. The moment I saw that video, I knew that is what I wanted to do. In 2018, I moved to California for about 6 months to test out the roller skating entertainment industry. I was able to book a few gigs. I skated background in a music video, entertained guests at a resort and performed in San Diego pride. Those were some of the best moments I’ve ever had. After spending 6 months in California and n 2018, I moved back to Virginia. In 2021, I returned to live in California permanently. I have now also booked gigs for birthday parties, brands, commercials, TV shows and more. One thing about me and my skating that sets me apart from other skaters is that I do stunts as well. I partner up with a skater and perform various fun (and a bit dangerous) stunt moves. There are some other skaters that also do stunts, but not very many. It is starting to become more popular.
What I am most proud of would be how far my social media platform has grown. My overall goal with my skating is to perform for others and make them feel the happiness, joy and freeness that I feel when I’m skating.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Growing my social media platform was a fun process. I had no idea how to do it. I started off with google. Then I decided to ask other friends and influencers how they did it. The main thing I did to grow my followers was staying consistent. So many people told me that consistency is key. I didn’t see results until I did. Another way of gaining an audience was to use engaging descriptions with each post. Like asking questions that my followers and friends can answer. It helps make your posts more inclusive of everyone.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want to be a worldwide known inspiration to the entire world. I want to share my love and passion for my art with everyone and pass on all of my love and happiness to as many people as I possibly can. That is my overall goal.
