Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joshua Womack. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Joshua , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
Sometimes money or time won’t allow you to take an out-of-state or overnight vacation. That being said, I’m a big fan of building mini-vacations into my day.
Reading a good book in the bathtub is a mini-vacation. So is sitting in a steam room or sauna for 20 minutes. If you build these small breaks in your day it goes a long way in keeping you fresh for the long haul.

Joshua , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Josh Womack and I am a copywriter & author. This July, I will be releasing my second book, ‘You are not that funny: Stories from Cleveland Stand-Up.’
The book is about my short run doing stand-up in Northeast Ohio and reliving some of the conversations I had with both local and nationally-known comics. The book also focuses on a few venues in Northeast Ohio that are longer around, with recollections from the comedians who performed there and the regulars who came to shows.
In 2022, I released my first book, ‘I’m not a copywriter, but … Lesson Learned from a Late Bloomer. The book is about what I’ve learned being a copywriter and what newer copywriters can expect along the way.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Writing, whether it’s copywriting or penning a book, keeps me centered. It’s therapeutic. There’s not a concrete goal that I shoot for, just a system of reading and writing on a daily basis.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
As I mentioned, I used to do stand-up but eventually tired of the late nights and grind. But I still wanted to be creative. That’s when I found copywriting. It allowed me to keep writing and kept my brain creative.
