We recently connected with Joshua Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Joshua, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
As a child of 2 Puerto Rican parents, music was always in our lives. We play it when we’re cleaning, when we’re driving, at parties, get togethers, and just about any place we can. That love continued in me, but my parents noticed something different about me. Growing up I always gravitated to music, more than the average person. My parents would tell me that I used to zone out when I would hear music in the car as a kid, but not so much zone out but rather analyze the music and really feel every note played, every instrument in perfect harmony creating a masterpiece. This love, this passion for music turned into me wanting to go to college for it. I got a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production from Full Sail University, then started to work with local artists in the Orlando, FL area. I then moved to Nashville, TN to continue my career. There I met tons of good people in the industry and was introduced to the sync industry which eventually led me to get placements on NETFLIX, ESPN, UFC, Law & Order, HBO Max, NBC, and more.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a music producer, songwriter, I have a music studio, and I’m an audio engineer. I make Pop, Latin, EDM, Hip-Hop, RnB, and Cinematic music for music artists, TV, film, and ads. I’m inspired by music producers such as Max Martin, Mark Ronson, Timbaland, David Guetta, Dr. Dre, Mike Will Made It, and DJ Khaled. If you’re a music artist or have a project needing music and would like to elevate your brand while telling your story dynamically and creatively, I’m your guy. I’m most proud of my placement on Law & Order, one of the most well known shows in the world. I want followers/fans to know that I’m working on an opportunity for them to see behind the curtain and learn all the tips and tricks of music production. Stay tuned.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I think the same way people support, buy merchandise, and go to concerts of their favorite music artists, they can do the same with local music artists and creatives.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Creating something that could be everlasting and timeless. That is priceless.
