Have you ever had to pivot?
I had a telemarketing business in the mid 2000’s. We were very successful despite all the founder being under 26 years old. We were doing about $1 million a month in sales. When the money came it came fast and it magnified our weaknesses, especially my two business partners who were convicted felons prior to us partnering up. Because they were felons none of the business licenses or bonds could be in their name. The fast money poured fuel on their vices and they started partying hard and living fast. With that they became reckless at work and started to forge documents in order to boost sales numbers. By the time I got notice of it, it had been going on for at least 6 months, and complaints started to stack up with the state regulatory offices. They shut our company down , made us pay a large fine, and only held me responsible because my name was on everything. It nearly broke me financially and almost landed me in jail, but the evidence showed that they were the ones who had actually committed the crimes. It took me 10 years to get over that betrayal & during that time I never had any partners on any of my companies because I just couldn’t trust anyone.
