We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Joshua Frank. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Joshua below.
Joshua, appreciate you joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be a business owner. Unlike most people, I have only worked as an employee for one company. I was a dishwasher for a local senior living community where I scrubbed dishes – pots, pans, cookware, dining utensils, plates, glasses, you get the picture – for hours every day after school. And I can tell you; I’m much happier being a business owner. I decided early on that I wanted to pave my own way through the world and not have to depend on an employer. I decided I wanted complete control over my life.
All the business owners and entrepreneurs I know go through the motions, loving most days and trying to make the best out of the bad days. As most business owners can attest, owning a business takes a lot of time, drive, dedication, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get you to achieve your business goals. Being a business owner will be challenging, but it’s so fulfilling. Not only do I genuinely love doing the work that I do, but I also have the privilege of getting paid for that work and serving my clients to the best of my abilities. I have the opportunity to work with some fantastic people and set goals for myself that further my career in the direction that I want to move.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Josh Frank, and I’m the founder and owner of FrankFilms. FrankFilms is a video production company that captures and tells stories! We start by discovering our client’s needs and providing them with a top-of-the-line video that lures viewers in and tells a captivating story. I got my start in middle school when I discovered my love for video production. I worked my way up from creating videos of my high school’s sporting events to freelancing for Minor League Baseball and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Along the way, I started to build out my company with the desire to continue creating videos, which has worked out as video has become the most viewed content on the internet.
Overall, I’m proud of our service to our clients. Our goal is to help our clients find success and accomplishment, and we can support them by producing high-end, quality videos! We put a lot of energy into growing our skills and researching industry innovations so that we can always provide a competitive edge.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I always strive to deliver quality products, and I genuinely think our clients see that. Most of my work comes from word of mouth or viewing the work I have done for companies they know on social media! Always intentionally creating beautiful, cinematic work does pay for itself.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most significant and crucial part of my job is building relationships. Bonding with someone makes you really want to provide the best service for your clients. And once clients can trust you, they’re more likely to keep coming back and recommending you to their friends and peers.
I tend to work with businesses and people with many connections, and there are unlimited opportunities when considering the relationships those people have!
So my advice for anyone trying to grow their clientele is to start with your previous clients to see if you can begin to back up with them again or expand on their existing services.
