Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joshua Ferguson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Joshua, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
When I was a child, growing up on the East Coast, I was in the theatre and played many instruments. Art was in my blood. When I became a high schooler I booked a couple films but because of the subject matter of the films as a whole I was not allowed to be in them. I was bummed out about it. My mother told me at that time “Don’t worry. If it is meant to be, it will happen.”
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Fast-forward to college. I heard about an acting talent scout in my area and I attended a meeting at a Doubletree hotel which then sent me to Atlanta. While in Atlanta I auditioned for modeling and acting. Loved every bit. Months later, I flew to Hollywood and had an acting intensive workshop that lasted a week and I made my decision. I was going to move to LA to pursue my dream. After Christmas that year my family took a long road trip to LA and here I am.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
There is a particular goal and mission. I moved to Hollywood to become a movie star. Nothing less. That’s what drives me every day. I am grateful and blessed to have acted in a lot of projects. TV and movies. And I am on my way. But I won’t stop until I reach my goal. Then I’ll have to have a new mission.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
There is one book in particular that is a core piece of material for the journey. It is called Dreams Into Action by Milton Katselis. It is beneficial to the mindset and business of the entertainment industry. But it can also adapt to other dreams that one might have.
