Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Josh Yopp. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Josh, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
Back in 2017, my brother Elijah was building his start-up, Out The Box Digital Marketing (OTB). It was a small social media agency helping brands and organizations stay consistent and grow their presence online. At the time, I was working a corporate job, but Elijah knew I had a passion for photos and videos. All I had back then was a Canon t7i. I didn’t have a big goal; it was just about creating art and telling stories.
A couple of years went by, and we started to see real growth. Not only with our clients, but with the quality of the work we were producing. The photos, videos, and social media strategies actually helped businesses grow their online presence and generate a stronger return.
By late 2019, things really started to shift. We upgraded our equipment, my creative eye sharpened, and I was getting more opportunities. I decided to quit my corporate job in January 2020, right before the pandemic hit.
When Covid happened, everything slowed down. Clients dropped off, and we felt stuck. But as time went on and social media began to explode even more, we noticed a huge shift in the creative industry. Everyone was picking up a camera. Everyone wanted to be a content creator.
After countless conversations, disagreements, and moments of reflection, we knew we had to separate ourselves. We didn’t just want to make things look good; we wanted to create work that actually meant something. So, we rebranded.
That’s when Vewe Agency was born. A creative agency that transforms stories into inspiring connections. We knew this was worth pursuing because we realized that it doesn’t matter how cool your content looks or how big your business is. The only way to truly connect with people is through your story. Whether it’s your product, your team, or your customers, your story is what makes you human and relatable.
That’s where the name came from. Life is all about perspective, and your view, your Vewe, matters. We want to help share that perspective with others because someone out there might be going through something that your story or your work can help change. If we can inspire or impact even one person through storytelling, then we’ve done our job.

Josh, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Josh Yopp, and I’m a Director, Filmmaker, and Co-Founder of Vewe Agency, a creative video production company based in Connecticut. I focus on helping brands bring their stories to life through cinematic visuals and meaningful storytelling.
At Vewe, we specialize in high-quality video production, branded films, and full campaign development. We’ve worked with major brands like ASICS, Puma, Defense Soap, Porsche, and Hoffman Auto Group. Each project we take on is built around understanding who the client is, what they stand for, and how we can create something that connects with their audience on a deeper level.
What makes our work stand out is our focus on authenticity and emotion. We care about creating pieces that go beyond surface-level content. Every frame, sound, and story we tell is designed to leave an impression that lasts and builds trust between a brand and its audience.
What I’m most proud of is the quality and intention behind our work. Seeing a client light up when their story is told the right way, or hearing how our videos made people feel something real, is what keeps me going.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that Vewe isn’t just about production. It’s about perspective. Life is all about how you see it, and your view, your Vewe, matters.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I would say to really get your hands dirty in the beginning. Go out, film, and create, but don’t do it alone. Find people who share a similar journey or inspire you. This industry can feel competitive, but it’s not about competition, it’s about collaboration. Especially if you plan on working on production sets and building with crews.
Networking and being a good person go a long way. Go into everything with a good heart, even through the trials and tribulations. I’m a firm believer in Jesus Christ, and I know God won’t put you through anything you can’t handle. He already knows your story from beginning to end. Have good intentions, keep your faith strong, and everything else will fall into place.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Having good relationships and doing great work has been the most effective strategy for growing my clientele. I always believe it’s better to under promise and over deliver. When you focus on truly satisfying your clients and making the process smooth, they remember that experience. Most of my new opportunities come from past clients who not only hire me again but also refer me to their own network. Building trust and keeping those relationships strong has been the key.
