We recently connected with Josh Veselka and have shared our conversation below.
Josh, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I Learned too create and make music from a dark place in my struggles with life, It led me too escape through music watching juice wrld freestyle is what led me too begin the journey through music. I could have reached out and networked alot better in the beginning as well as not being as scared of what people thought of me and how I would create. The skills that were most essential were Consistent effort too craft and find my truest sound while using patience in my craft. It really comes down too passion, effort, obsession and how hard you can push yourself for the best sound.
The obstacles that stood in my path were obviously the judgment and Hate from people in how I was working on my music struggles with mental health and dealing with people who don’t give constructive criticism and bash you for doing what you love is very tough too deal with and makes you question and doubt. Through that I found more confidence in myself.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am Nurdz I found myself using music as a therapy session for the darkest times in my life through struggling in my head, I went into the industry as a Anxiety ridden loner who only had the mic too listen too me .I have helped build a community on DISCORD with a small group of artist and passionate friends who wanted too connect more artist and provide a safe place for creation, we made ART JUNKIES for everyone too find collaboration through sound music and love for creation. I have helped many too believe in themselves and too never stop creating as it is what we need too do in order too find our truest potential, I’m most proud of the fact I Let music find me and save me and my proudest songs come from that as well BEEN AT ALL MY LIFE is a song I have on YouTube that is a great example of my rawest emotion in music through losing family and being stuck with a mic, songs like that I can look back on and be very proud of for sharing more of my pain and vulnerability .
What I think sets me apart is that I am the essence of bringing more relatable and soulful melodic sound back into the industry I feel we lost that and I would like too Bring more real authentic and true feelings everyone can connect with.
I would like everyone too know that I am going too do much more then music as doing more Modeling work in the future showing a clean asthetic everyone can follow and love,as well as acting in the future and more building of my brand and expanding into all opportunities.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In the very beginning of my journey I found myself in the span of 1-2 weeks losing my mom, grandma, and the girlfriend I was with at the time I isolated locked myself away from the wrld and only had the microphone it was alot of trauma and built up pain I had too fight through and music saved my life.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I believe one of the most rewarding things is the fact I have looked back in my journey and realized the most love I have found for both myself which I have struggled with, and just connecting with others and finding more happiness in the community helping others with there struggles through it and building more authentic relationships, And everything I’ve learned too be better.
