We recently connected with Josh Schiffman and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Josh, thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
A lot of it comes down to showing up again and again…and again. It’s trying, failing, learning, and growing until you get there. It’s waking up every day and reminding yourself of all the reasons you’ve gotta keep going. When you can lock in your reason why, you’ll always have a reason to keep going, and those reasons will be the motivation you’ll need to take those next steps.
Josh, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Faith is the throughline for every step I take. Starting out as a music artist, then dialing into a songwriting/producing career, and onto building an artist development/management company are a couple highlights before dreaming up Dreamos Collective.
I really believe everyone’s been given dreams, and there’s always a way to reach them. Nothing really makes me smile more than helping others figure out their dream and the ways they can bring each one to life.
That’s what Dreamos Collective is really about. It’s a community for creatives who wanna make a difference through the dreams they’re inspired to reach.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Reputations are built on what’s repeated. So, whatever you wanna be known for, be consistent in it. Whether positive or negative, you’re creating how others perceive you. I think the mentality of “making a friend” rather than “building a network” has gone a long way. When others experience you as getting to know them for who they are rather than what they can do, you create trust. That trust paves the pathway for opportunity – Not so you can win, but for how you can all win together.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Create a culture of optimism. Optimism points to positivity and that positivity creates hope. Hope builds strength, and that strength becomes the foundation for progress.
