We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Josh Graham. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Josh below.
Hi Josh, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I’ve had a few different artist aliases and bands that I’ve performed under. Gl1tch is the one I’ve stuck with the most out of any of them. I’ve found the most success with it and I enjoy it the most! But to be completely honest with you the most meaningful project I’ve had is one I’m still actively working on starting. It is a collective called Source Code Collective. The idea of this project is that we are a collective of artists and creatives in the Wook scene (bass music and jam bands with a pinch of house) and we are based around spiritual healing vibes. But we want to be diverse and all inclusive so we will not only be featuring all genres but also all forms of art. Starting with Wook arts like painting, wire wrapping, fire spinning, etc. Eventually we’d like to feature arts outside of the Wook scene. The mission of SCC is to be a nonprofit platform that gives back to the art community to help artists with a good heart make it in the art scene. Although at first we prioritize bass artists and Wook artists we plan to extend this help out to everyone. We have thrown an art gallery event as our first event but we have another one planned for the spring equinox that is unannounced yet! We have many more plans in the works :)

Josh, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Gl1tch. I make experimental bass sound healing music. I use solfeggio frequencies, white magick, and other forms of sound healing in my music.
I started making music (solo) under the name Limb0. The idea of that project was that when I was really young I used to struggle with depression. Music really helped get me through those tough times of my life and it still helps me. Limb0 was created with the idea to help people that were going through it just like how music helped me. I would make sad songs to connect with people on a deep level then id make uplifting songs to bring healing to the listener. Gl1tch uses a similar concept but it all happens in the same song but now I use actually healing concepts in my music instead of just vibes.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Well first I think we need to stop looking at creativity as a talent and skill. Creating art is a habit of all humans and creativity is so important to our beings. Although I don’t like the idea of the government getting involved with music, it would be nice to see society actually fund smaller artists. Even if funding isn’t an option for you, listening to small artists music, reposting their content online, buying their albums, seeing them perform, promoting their events, and just overall enjoying what’s new and what’s been around is so important. So many people get stuck only supporting big artists and this makes it harder for up and coming artists to make it in the scene.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Sooooo I used to invest in cryptos. In fact back in 2008 when I was just a youngin, I had discovered the dark web and cryptos. I watched videos saying crypto would be the future of currency. My parents raised me to hate money because the government doesn’t want us to have any and it’s bad and evil. It seemed like cryptos would solve all the issues so I tried to convince my parents to buy me bitcoins when they were only $100. They refused because I was a child. Foolish mistake to underestimate a baby alien. Needless to say I was obsessed with cryptos ever since. Recently in the past few years the market took a fat hit and I fell off. I used to be so excited about the potential of NFTs. I would play different games that utilized it as the items in game and tickets for shows that created passes for people to come to all events. The issue was that NFTs are so confusing and time consuming to setup that the general public didn’t know how to get involved. And with the government attacking cryptos it was harder for rich business investors to get involved with them as they knew they’d lose money and it was too risky. I feel as though cryptos will take over one day but it’s super risky right now to know what will work and what will stick. Especially with NFTs. But what does stick will be worth so much more than it is now
