Josh, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
It depends on what you define as successful! In my mind success is defined as doing what you love and making a living off of it. My passion and my purpose make me successful. My passion is the driving fuel for my success because I feel I am serving my purpose in life by servicing others in an industry I love!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Josh Fitz I am the owner of my barbering Brand – Faded By Fitz – 1 of the 3 businesses I own. I’ve been cutting hair since I was 15 and a professional Barber since the age of 18 , I am now 32. Falling in love with barbering at a very young age I’ve had continued success due to my passion for the industry and living in my purpose of servicing others. This has lead to my opening Another business called – He Unique Cutz & suites. This business is one that opened its doors in Jan 2022. It is a creative space for all kind of entrepreneurs including Barbers , stylists , Braiders , loctitions , lash techs & even message therapists. Boosting a staff of 30+ of the most talented people in the industry. Providing them with a family environment that all can excel in their business endeavors. I also just started a vending machine company called – Power co Vending – starting with one machine in hopes to have several machines an even ATMs in the greater atlanta area. How’d you meet your business partner?
Being a Barber I meet all kinds of people daily from all types of backgrounds an careers. I pride myself on professionalism an being a great person overall. Servicing all my clients in a timely manner while also giving them great conversation and building a bond with them. In 2021 I had been cutting a guy named Steve who had been coming to me for a couple months. He shared with me a vision he had of owning his own Barbershop and overall the next several haircuts we discussed this vision of his. We both noticed that our goals an vision on this subject aligned. In the Fall of 2021 we drafted up a contract a filed for all the proper paperwork and joined forces to open – He Unique Cutz & Suites – located in midtown Atlanta Ga. I tell this story often because as a barber we have so many opportunities to meet so many amazing people an you never know what can come of these opportunities. Take risks an take chances. Always carry yourself in a manner that makes others gravitate and want to do business with you.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I moved to Atlanta in the spring of 2019. When I first moved here I noticed that most Barbers where enamored with being “celebrity barbers” and caring more about celebrity clients an being “famous” on Instagram. I went the opposite route because I wanted to be different an carve my own path. I focused on serving the everyday people , giving them the same respect an benefits I would give a celebrity. I often tell people “I am not a celebrity barber but all my clients are celebrities to me”. I pride myself on Great customer service boasting a 5 star rating on my booking platform with over 400+ reviews. I pride myself with being on time , being professional and building great bonds / friendships with all my clients all while giving a great service by meeting all my clients needs an wants. This has set me apart from the typical barber in atlanta chasing celeb status an fame. I am the peoples champ where I treat all my clients like celebrities.
