We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Josh Benson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Josh, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Being successful is more than just achieving a certain goal or having a great career. It’s about the journey that takes you there. It’s about having a positive attitude, even when the odds are against you. It’s about striving for excellence and having the courage to take risks and make mistakes. It’s about never giving up, even when it seems like all hope is lost.

Success involves perseverance, determination, and resilience. It requires hard work and dedication, and there are often times when it requires sacrifice. You must be willing to put in the effort and have the discipline to stay focused on your goals, even when life throws obstacles in your path. You must also be willing to accept failure as part of the process.

Ultimately, success is about finding the strength within yourself to keep going when times get tough. It’s about having the courage to push yourself out of your comfort zone and take the necessary steps to achieve your dreams. It’s about having the faith that, no matter what happens, you will eventually reach your desired destination.

Josh, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I was born and raised in Pasadena, California, and although I had a wonderful upbringing, I felt lost and confused without a real direction in life. That all changed when I moved to Austin, Texas, four years ago.

The new environment opened up my mind and gave me the opportunity to take a leap of faith. I decided to start my own slingshot rental business, and although the first year was tough, I was able to make it work. My business flourished and I was soon able to expand my services to include car and exotic car rentals, and eventually I even purchased a party bus company.

I am especially proud of how I handled the hardships and losses along the way. I was determined to make it work, and I am so glad that I did. My journey is far from over, but I am confident that I can continue to make my dreams come true.

Yes, I recently just purchased Austin Nites Party Bus from a good friend of mine. This business was purchased under my existing business ATX Slingshot Rentals. Austin Nites Party Bus is a business that offers party busses for lake shuttles, wineries, bachelor & bachelorette parties etc.

At first I was going to startup ,y own party bus business but I felt like it was too much to handle since I have the slingshots already. But once my friend reached out to me trying to sell his business of 7 years, I knew this would be then best option for me, since it already has drivers included, clientele and systems/ processes in place.

Im excised and have big plans for the near future.

in the very beginning, I started with a partner. but once she realized that it wasn’t making money right away she wanted out unfortunately. I was so close to opting out and well but I knew that this was a good business idea. I didn’t have any idea of what I was doing but I kew I had to hit the drawing board and lear a lot of new things. This was very challenging for me but I stayed persistent and focused.
