We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Joseph Weeks a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Joseph, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you have any advice regarding quality control and maintaining quality as your brand grows?
In the auto Detailing industry, Quality control is one of the highest priorities behind safety and honesty. As L&L Detailing continues to grow we have decided to prioritize quality over profits. What this means for us is that we do not focus on volume. We have set up some guidelines that allows for growth while maintaining the level of service and quality we are dedicated to providing each and every client that chooses to book with us.
One of the ways we accomplish this is by limiting our daily bookings in order to accommodate potential bad weather, an unanticipated condition of a vehicle (very dirty), or just the friendly conversations and catching up with our monthly and weekly clients.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
A few weeks after graduating high school, I joined the Marines. While serving five and a half years as an avionics technician on the AV 8B Harrier I made a deployment to Afghanistan, as well as reconnected with a girl I knew while in middle school, who is now my wife and mother of our 2 beautiful children Lillien and Leroy. After Graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University with an associates degree I continued my post military occupation as an Assistant golf professional. While applying my efforts in the golf industry working for Arnold Palmer Golf Management at Disney as well Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria Orlando Golf course, I realized that the industry and I didn’t share the same values. After a conversation with my wife and a leap of faith We started L&L Detailing and haven’t looked back. we are now 3 years into this journey and it has been remarkable the support my family, the city of Clermont, and all of central Florida has provided us. We believe what sets us apart and what continues to generate such loyal support is being Genuine and treating everyone the way we would want to be treated.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
L&L Detailing started with a 0% interest Credit card and $500. I purchased the essentials and posted my services on social media, as well as created a free google page. I had a few months of savings so in the beginning a good portion of what I earned went to upgrading or enhancing the quality of products and services that I could offer. very quickly I needed to adjust my pricing and once I did this the business was profitable and I could support my family.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I contact all my monthly clients personally each month as well as share videos of the services we provide on social media. we also share when a client gets a new car and feature clients vehicles on our web gallery. All of this is done with the clients privacy in mind as well as with there approval. We take our clients property and privacy very serious.
