We were lucky to catch up with Joseph Romero recently and have shared our conversation below.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am most proud of my success and being a top producing agent in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Outside of my professional career, I am heavily involved in the Fort Worth community.
Currently, I am an active board member of the Fort Worth Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission.
I serve as a committee member for the One Safe Place, Fort Worth Oktoberfest, and a facilitator at The Warm Place. The Warm Place is where I hope to leave a legacy one day. Every other Monday, I serve as a facilitator at The WARM Place and we provide a safe, compassionate space for children and their families grieving the death loss of a loved one. I am very passionate about the The Warm Place.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Almost 6 years ago, when I had no business and I was hesitant to adapt to the ever fast changing times. Only because I am a private person, social media and I weren’t so friendly with each other. It was about 2 years into the business that I started to step out of my comfort zone, only because I had no choice. After recognizing the fact that my business was stagnant and going nowhere, I had to make some serious changes.
One day at an open house, I was watching other successful agents throughout the world use social media to their advantage. I saw how innovative they are with videos, photos, captions, etc. Each time there was a new post, it was even more creative than the previous. The most important takeaway that I saw was how engaging they are with their following. It was from that day on, I made the decision to take my business to the next level. I did that by putting myself out there more, letting people know that I am always in real estate, posting real estate related posts, but also making it personal and community involved. It was shortly after that my audience started to rapidly grow on social media. The most important tip that I can give someone is to be authentic and true to yourself. That goes further than anything in this world, people like to work with people they like.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My best source of clients has come from building relationships, past clients, referrals, and social media.
