Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joseph Moreno. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Joseph , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
To fully grasp what I do on a professional level, I had to negate the idea that my work will be acceptable to all. I had to learn that leaving it open to interpretation is substantial to both my success as an artist as well as a human being.
That perspective influenced me taking personal development courses and keeping my work in a constant learning phase, consequently influencing me heavily throughout the years as I grew with an appreciation of how and why.
Being within the horror niche, it is often misinterpreted as being a home to unneeded vulgarity, mental neglection and generic grotesque nature of man. Very few can actually grasp that, like comedy, there is a certain genius it takes to create pieces of content that not only speaks to the audience physically, but also psychologically.
This, in fact, is the reason I am constantly expanding my knowledge on the culture and my craft, daily. Never to assume that what I know is “just enough”, as the gap between ignorance and brilliance is as simple as that little extra effort you put in.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a horror-based numetal artist out of Vancouver, Washington. My debut effort into a heavier and more theatrical sound came in the form of the EP, “Sweet Relief”, and coincided with my favorite holiday, Halloween, in 2019. From that release and branding developments, I have established success in spots through global magazines including Underground Nation as well as appearances on Replicon Radio and The Underground Australia podcasts. You are also able to find my work on YouTube through various channels who solely base their content on promotion of both indie and major artist releases.
I strive to be one of the best artists of my genre that I can be, both from an entrepreneurial standpoint and a customer who frequently engages with the local small businesses that help strengthen the horror culture.
I provide services such as vocal performances, film narration, foley production and provide various merchandise items from both my company and those I’ve partnered with.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I feel that it is the moments you least expect. Whether it’s the moments customers become long time friends, to simply having someone acknowledge your work and give time out of their day to offer praise. As content creators, we should always be thankful to those that give us the opportunity to impact their lives.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
As cliche as it sounds, I try to keep my physical goals open-ended as much as possible; I would rather enjoy the journey rather than a singular point or destination. My main priority is to be as natural as I can toward my craft and treat it with the utmost care and respect. By simply being myself and maturing with my company, the goals along the way will reveal themselves to be worthy.
