We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Joseph Evans III. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Joseph below.

Joseph, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

HigherLXNG just came to me one day. It was after I listened to To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. I have always aspired to be impactful like Dr. King, like Malcolm X. In my own way. I had been off of social media for a little over a year, so I said if i got back on it would have to be with intent. At first it was just higher learning, but eventually higher loving, higher laughing and higher living came to mind. All things that we are missing in society. Higher frequencies of love, living life to the fullest, full on gratitude, joy and knowledge. I wanted to be a vessel for all of these things in some way so HigherLXNG was born. I try my best to provide all of these things by way of beautiful imagery, words and podcasting.

Joseph, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I have loved the arts since I was younger. I got my first camera as a Christmas gift at about 7 years old. In middle school I realized I loved literature and writing. I have always been an introvert, but always had something to say. And that was how podcasting came into play. I just look to express myself in the things I create by way of those three mediums. I aim to be a vessel. A vessel of inspiration, knowledge, motivation etc. I love to help and be of service. Even on the days I do not like to haha. The sacrifice is worth it. Through photography I provide clients with exactly what they are looking with a little bit of my touch. I am keen on details and love for colors to pop. I tell stories by way of photos. Through writing I like to tell a story as well. One that provides imagery through words.. The Thoughts for The Sole podcast brings some of the most inspiring creatives, industry leaders and artists to the forefront of people’s minds through authentic conversation. Guests have ranged from ChicInSneaks, a very dope writer/storyteller/content creator, to the owner and founder of the Whitaker Grp in James Whitner. People from different walks of life with the goal of impacting humanity in a positive way through their stories and their actions. This is what HigherLXNG is all about.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

Creating. The journey of it. The process of taking an idea from your mind and making it a reality for others to receive and appreciate. Or dislike. Once it leaves your hands and is placed in front of the audience you no longer have any control of it. As scary as that may sound I enjoy the thrill of it. I enjoy learning new things, enhancing things and also unlearning. As you grow as an artist it is so amazing to discover the parts of you that are not so great. It does not feel good in the moment, but it affords you the opportunity to grow and become better. But above all I believe that helping others bring their ideas and thoughts to life through my creative gifts may be the most rewarding.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

To be a blessing by way of my multitude of gifts. God gave me things for a few reasons. Beyond working to create success for myself, it is to help others on their life’s journey.
