Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joseph Ebanks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Joseph, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My debut film, “More To Life” has been the most important project I’ve worked on to date. I remember having aspirations of being a director, but thinking I wouldn’t be taken seriously. In the process of making this film I gained the confidence, and experience necessary to see a project through from beginning to end.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m an independent filmmaker and native of Nashville, TN . My passion for creative storytelling and high-quality visuals has led to an expansive portfolio of music visuals, short films, commercials, and movies. In 2020, I debuted my first feature film, “More to Life”, to a sold-out crowd at Regal Opry Mills Cinema. “More to Life” has since garnered millions of streams on some of today’s biggest platforms. My second film “She’s Such A Lady,” is in post production. It will be released later this year. With a Bachelor’s of Videography and Photography under my belt, I bring my love for film and expertise to every project, along with a high level of professionalism resulting in world-class visuals.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal as a creative is to create pieces that resonate with people and spark conversations that will move us forward as a culture. Majority of my work is inspired by real life events. I take my observations and create art from them. I’m not trying to imply that my view on everything is correct but it comes from a genuine place. Although I do think pure entertainment has a place as well. Sometimes it just needs to make me laugh or tell a good story that breaks the monotony in every day life.
I also hope to inspire other creatives to believe their voices are necessary. When they see the minimal resources I had when I started I hope it makes them feel like they can do it too.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to bring something into existence that didn’t exist before—an idea, a story, an image, a product—that resonates with others. It’s the feeling when your work moves someone, sparks a thought, or even just makes them feel seen.
There’s also a deep sense of fulfillment in expressing your inner world outwardly, and seeing it reflected back in the reactions of others. Whether it’s through praise, critique, or connection, it affirms that your voice matter
